Couldn’t agree more. I’ve always wanted a moonphase watch, but was always slightly disappointed by every one I saw. This was the first one I felt that really did it justice.
I have 2. I wouldn’t mind a 3rd!
The Ventura has a special place in my heart. My automatic was given to me as a gift and is the watch that started me down the path of watch collecting.
I recently got the new Elvis blue suede shoes edition.
I think “dressy” is a relative term. Back when this was first released, I’d wager it was considered an everyday watch and not dressy, but now, comparative to the baseline (what the average person wears everyday), I guess this is dressy, which in a way is kind of sad.
In a world full of glitz, glam, bright lights and complexity all vying for our attention every waking second, simplicity is breathtaking and defies time. It truly is timeless. It plays into its purpose - to tell time, and doesn’t pretend to be anything more.
This is absolutely one of my all-time favorite watches.
