A first Citizen for me.

A new watch in my collection, the Citizen Series 8 Model 830 NA1010-84X. It's my first Citizen watch, a JDM model (at least from what I've read about it), and, I think not a typical choice for a first Citizen.

This is not a new model on the market. It's been out for about a year now already. I believe this model, along with a few others in the Series 8 line, came out sometime late 2021.

This particular reference's dial is what caught my eye. The intricate latice design overlaying the mother of pearl disc just below it creates a rather mesmerizing iridescent effect that really has to be seen in person to fully experience and realize in person. The visual effect reminds me of the limited edition AP Royal Oak Black Ceramic that has a rainbow-colored sapphire Tapisserie dial.

Coupled with the other additional high level of details on the dial and handset, this was one that was on my mind for a while and had to eventually get in person to check out.

This watch also uses a relatively new movement from the brand that is not often found in a lot of watches, the Miyota Caliber 0950. It's a higher end movement that has a stated tolerance of -5~+10 sec/day, 50 hours of power reserve, 24 jewels, antimagnetic to 16,000 A/m.  and beats at 4htz/28,000vph.

The integrated bracelet "style" is quite nicely sculpted along with the 40mm x 11.7mm case and forms very cool angular facets that dazzle my eyes. I emphasize style as it is not a true integrated bracelet. Which may be just as well because it can open another world of aftermarket strap options for the watch. But, I suspect it will mostly remain paired with the stock wide angular H-link bracelet.

I'm digging it so far.

That's a slick piece. I sure wish this existed in Eco Drive with a green dial, I'm on the hunt for a green watch I actually like.

That is a beautiful watch and I appreciate the restraint of not posting a link to your youtube channel.  However, I'm going to do it for you and I'll watch it later today

They do for sure, I just there were more appealing quartz models, I am hitting my limit of comfortability in how many mechanical watches I want to own/service (maybe ).

Yes  but, really hard to truly capture the dial's visual effect. It's something to behold in person

Like most textured dials are, it's hard to capture how the light behaves and the details.

Oooo oh boy nice. That's value for money right there. Finishing, reliable, great looking.
