Do you have to match the watch to the outfit?

A nice watch can really top of a look. I know that if I can, I do try to synchronized my watch the color clothes I wear. But ultimately I do believe a nice watch can stand the test of coordination and fit the vibe without totally matching.

What do you guys/gals think?

Wearing a clashing colored watch; violation or valid?

If I'm at home then I wear what I fancy, but I do give it a bit of thought when I go out. It either goes with the outfit or it's complementary to stand out. Clashing I won't do.

Anything done on purpose is valid! :)

Matching is for girls. Coordinate, compliment, sure.

Coincidentally, I'm doing this today.

I wouldn't wear a dress watch to the beach or a diver with a suit to an important business meeting. Otherwise, throw the rules out the door and wear what makes you feel right.

I think “match” is a broad term, so I’ll say yes. Sometimes “match” means I wear a dress watch with khaki shorts and a polo or t-shirt. It pulls the whole thing up a notch.

Only in formal or serious business situations in black suits and black leather shoes. Then I change my strap to black leather ones.

Otherwise I wear whatever I feel like wearing.

That is my thought process. If it makes sense to you, that's all that matters.

I wear any watch with any outfit, the watch however must stand out!
