I am proud to say I’ve finally gotten my open water diver certification and have taken this watch to 99ft deep ☺️A fun memory to have with this time piece!

Absolutely 😂 so far I used my omega seamaster and my CWC diver

Congrats on your accomplishment and the memory / milestone with your timepiece!

Isn't the open water limit 60ft for PADI and NAUI?

Hmm not sure what you mean… that was never mentioned in any of my training. I am SSI certified but I don’t think it was any different with PADI divers. I was diving in Cozumel, Mexico and they were very strict on safety believe it or not. I think anything beyond 130ft and they would require me to show advanced training.

What a great watch and congrats on the certification.

SSI looks the same as PADI/NAUI— Open Water to 60 ft, Advanced to 120/130ft.

But the important thing is you put some awesome memories on that watch, and for that I am jealous. I did all my diving before I got infected with this watch disease, so I daydream a lot about getting a watch for the sole purpose of doing what you just did with your Seamaster.

The real question is... where is the underwater watch photo?! I love seeing how dive watches look at depth, particularly how they look with the loss of color as you get deeper. I'm always perplexed by the use of colors you can't see any any meaningful depth (ahem, Doxa).

Obviously color loss is not a thing with your Seamaster, which is exactly why that is such a great watch for diving. The high contrast legibility you have must have been so awesome at those depths and you have a responsibility to this community to share the photos!

Love the 57 trilogy watches!

Wait — who took you to 99 feet if you are only open water certified? Nice watch!

·

Sweet!

·

Congratulations on a great diving Milestone! I did not have a beautiful Seamaster on wrist for my first open water cert. Enjoy every minute and stay safe! Things look different at 99!

·

Amazing man! Thanks for sharing. Dope ass watch!!!

Unless it has changed, Open Water (PADI) certification limits you to 60'. Advanced Open Water (my cert level) allows 120' as I recall. Deapest I've even been is about 110'. Not to much bottom time at that depth.

Anyway, congrats on yot certification and watch purchase. I do have to ask however, would significant scatches on such an expensive dive watch be acceptable to you? That is bound to happen either while on a dive or while on a rocking dive boat in rough seas.

·

Why didn't you just go down one more foot and make it an even 100? 🌞

Seems to be the recurring question… all I have to say is that it was Mexico… free country 😂 (they did take safety very seriously though)

It turns out you are rate about needing advanced certification… this dive shop in Cozumel was very professional and I was with the dive master the whole time so I don’t know if that changes things.

In regards to scratching the watch, I bought it over 1.5yrs ago to mark a major career milestone. Although I don’t purposely beat on it, I also have decided I want to use it and have stories with it so that when I pass it on to my nephews or future kids, it will mean more. (I also used my CWC a lot on that trip)

I was trying 😂I was already 5ft below the dive master and when he saw me he was immediately signaling for me to come up, so I didn’t want to push it. (I was also using an analog depth gauge and I’m not sure how precise it was, it may’ve been 100ft)

You should bring the invicta, you know, for science!

If I found that some ‘professional’ in Mexico took my son down to a very short no decompression time limit that the 99 foot depth demands, even though he only has his open water certification…I’d be looking for my brass knuckles. They put you in danger. I’m not mad or disbelieve you. Just can’t believe some entity would be so irresponsible.

Congrats! Love the NATO strap, looks like a completely different watch with it on.
