Soviet Watches, Anyone?

I found these in my mother-in-law's house in Anchorage. My father-in-law visited Moscow during the mid 80's on business and these were gifted to him as a welcome gift on that trip.

Does anyone know anything about these Soviet watches?

The one on the left is a Zaria from the Penza Watch Factory. The one on the right is a quartz Perestroika commemorative made by Luch at the Minsk Watch Factory in what is today Belarus.

Both factories are still making watches.

The word to the left of the hammer is “quartz.”

He should say that the watches are 42 years old...

Yes! I'd be surprised if his favourite diameter was 42mm though!

I am originally from Belarus. Luch (Луч) is our brand. It’s good someone mentioned it as I forgot about it. I don’t think they are good quality, but I see at least one model as automatic, though not written which movement they use. Interesting if they developed smth inhouse
