Which vintage style rubber strap would you choose?

So I’ve been trying to decide on which vintage rubber strap to purchase for my SPB143. Currently torn between these two and figured, what better way to decide than to create my first post/poll on WatchCrunch. Which one speaks to you? Pictures are courtesy of WatchGecko.

Both are beautiful

The SPB143 looks better on the tropic strap if you want the modern look which is sleeker. If you want a vintage look, get the waffle.

But if you throw anything on that watch, it will never look out of place. Such a strap monster.

I got the waffle one and I find the holes are two far apart at 9mm. I don’t think it looks good in person. I am currently using the Zulu diver padded tropical rubber strap mkII from watchgecko on my sla057 and I think it is perfect.

Waffle FKM. I'm a sucker for the vintage look.

Neither style is really modern since both the tropic and waffle rubber straps were both popularized in the 60's.

Which is better for the SPB143? Well it depends on your goals: A waffle may be better if you want to get it close to a 62MAS despite that IMO the SPB143 is a good watch but not a good 62MAS.

since I can't decide, I'm going with choose the one with the best "end" meaning not blocked or chopped or squared off, that doesn't look appealing to me. Go for the one with, hopefully, a rounded end so when its on your wrist you see a nicer finished tie-in to your case

Thank you for your comment! I agree it truly is a strap monster! Been rocking it on a green NATO as of late.

Both are great.  I picked the Tropical Strap based on your photos, but maybe you get both, one black and one another color?
