2023 goals - cut the collection in half

I love my overall collection but it’s grown to the point where I’m not wearing far too many. This coming year I’ll finally get my Tudor and Speedmaster and I already know they will dominate my wrist time along with my Casio watches. A large sell off is coming soon !

Nothing wrong with a small collection.

I support the what if not the why.

Yeah I like a small collection. I think I'd be really happy with 4 total including a beater. Two nice titanium, big and small. And two nice colorful g shocks for casual style.

·

Also in my opinion don't waste your money on "luxury" stuff.

A good titanium Casio goes a long way.

Believe I got to the point where I am not interested in buying additional watches (not saying never again). I am happy with what I have at the moment and want to be able to give my whole collection as much equal wrist time as possible. Even then I know I am not able to achieve that. So I am also considering letting go of less worn pieces. Since I have not sold any watches before it will be a unprecendented experience for me. I have however, gifted some pieces before to friends and relatives. I can go that route too.

Quite a collection of the Casio watches there. I do have quite a large collection of watches too and over time with the ones you never wear, it is time to sell it to someone who may be able to enjoy it more than I do.  However, recently, I am starting the itch to collect G-Shock watches too, for some reason it gives me the attraction to collect them. I really like some of their iteration but their prices can be too much I think. For instance that GMW-B5000TVA-1JR is really one of a kind but not sure if it is worth the money to splurge on a Casio. What do you guys think?

Had to look that up but wow, I'd no idea you could spend that much on a G-Shock. I would happily spend £500 on an Oceanus, but I would really struggle to see the value in a watch with a purely digital movement. The multi-layer colouring of the Titanium is cool and all, but then I read this on the Casio site:

"Lug holes in the bezel reveal the case, and fine resin buffering beneath adds to a design that moves style into the future."

What the hell is 'fine resin buffering'?!

Hmm looking at your collection very impressive you got some hottie ones that  worth keeping and you got some that might be worth selling. Thats all I can say good luck and best wish for next year.

·

Those are some incredible watches. That NASA one is awesome!

·

I cannnot wait to see what you bring I. 2023, what Tudor and speedmaster reference are you looking at? Keeping an eye out for your sale!

·

I love g-shocks! I have 5 and wouldn't mind a few more.

Love your collection!

·

That’s a lot of Casio!

·

Yeah, first off: Casio doesn’t count against a collection. I’ve used this logic with my wife but she respectfully disagrees. I say my ‘luxury‘ watches are the ones where I have to make tough calls. I made a promise for 1-in-1-out policy, which means I need to sell at least 2 watches. 😔

For the most part I’m in same boat. I have never really parted with any watches in last 5 years and I do wear them all at least occasionally. But my luxury get the most time and it’s just time to trim the collection and perhaps get one Tudor this year and hopefully be the only purchase this year. That’s my goal at least

It’s. Difficult
