First Post

Just started collecting watches this August after I received these 2 antique pocket watches that belonged to my grandparents. Thoughts on what to get next. Think I may get rid of the Vaer A7 Tradition

Let me tell you this, what you have here is more than a great start for watch collecting Sir. Also, i agree with you about the Vaer A7 as it looks very similar / have the same functionality of the Tudor above it. Please enjoy the journey of watch collecting! Good luck!

Very nice picks 👌🏻

Tudor and Longines are two great value brand with heritage and quality 👏🏻

·

Dude slow down!

·

Good start, not rush and enjoyyyy

You need something colourful now 😆

·

Theres a theme here brother. Like the gentlemen here have said slow down enjoy the journey,

·

That’s more than a watch per month! Slow down. Your taste will evolve as you explore the hobby.

What you have is fantastic though!

You seem to like Explorer type watches so you should probably get a Explorer, I have the 39 and the two tone and they are awesome.. or get a Sub no date... Either way, get a Rolex, don't start hoarding mid range stuff, it's a waste of time and money

·

You need white dial. You have one spot left. Fill it up. 🤜🤛

·

Speedmaster Pro is always a solid choice for a collection

·

Welcome to WC. You have nice taste. Enjoy what you have, and enjoy the fun of figuring out your next move.

·

Welcome to the CRUNCH! Love the collection there homie 🤙

While clearly not for everyone mid range stuff is a lot of enjoyment to collect and sometimes it may even be the only stuff people can afford. Rolex is good but it's not the end all be all to watch collecting. It is also quite inaccessible at retail price from a boutique, but hopefully that situation improves soon.

·

Well, you have probably started out better than most of us did when we first began. You have a strong collection in such a short period of time. Kudos! Nice first post!

·

I’ve got the Ranger and the BB39 you have a nice little collection so far 🙂

Agree to get big boy watches but only after plenty of research and trying them all on before buying anything else yet . The old saying “ The poor man pays twice” agrees with your sentiment:)

Wow, is that what’s called Kickstarter?

Craig your spending his money for him lol 😂 I think he has already charged out of the gate 😂

·

Just keep your magnetic Apple Watch charger at least 5 inches away from those pocket watches , don’t want them magnetized !

·

What next? May I suggest a quirky watch? Something fun and colorful like a mr Jones watch.

·

What is on the left bottom, is it a bot? 🤖

David, I'm only here for support, even if it's co-signing. 🫣

·

What’s that weird looking watch bottom left with no dial? I’d get rid of that one.

·

I love the Tudor with the Jubelee 🔥🔥

·

Two lovely Tudors and a Longines - that’s a great start

Love the pocket watches too

Don’t know much about the Vaer

I agree! I think a white dial Explorer II would be fitting. But I’ll be opening up the spot where the Vaer is

You'll love the Explorer ll. That watch is one of my favorites in my box. Happy hunting.

Was the Vaer your gateway drug? If so, keep it. In ten years you’ll miss it. Even if it goes back into its case and into a drawer, you’ll remember where it all started. If the Vaer was an impulse buy, then sure sell it. As for your next step, how bout a dressier piece that fits your aesthetic you have going? 1603 datejust? Vintage Cartier tank as a wild card?

·

Love the Longines! You have a great collection already.

·

Great taste!
