Bulova Lunar Pilot

I bought this Bulova Lunar Pilot as my first real dive into watch collecting and all I can say is I'm in love!! I saw some reviews saying the watch was too big but I found on my 7 inch wrist that it fit me perfectly to my taste! It's really made me want to experiment with other brands and potentially one day making the leap for that speedy! 😬 I truly do think this piece is a fantastic bargain and I wish Bulova would make a smaller version so more people could enjoy it! What's your opinion on the Bulova?

It's a great piece. I have one in my collection and I love it. Up until just a short while ago, it was the only sub-$500 option for a moon watch.

·

I love this watch.....and if/when Bulova makes a 38-39mm version I'll be the first to buy it..... I've tried it on and it's too big for me.

·

Absolutely bargain watch with fantastic accuracy (a grand seiko like  +-10 a year), great looks and heritage. Definitely a keeper, even if just to set the time on your other watches. Well wear!

·

I am also concerned about the size as well. And having a 6" wrist is even more of an issue for this watch. If they would make a 38-39mm version of it I would go for it, no question.

Which version do you have if you don't mind me asking? It's an absolute steal for it's price!

in my opinion it's the only major drawback of this piece I sincerely hope they do make a 38mm version because they would sell like hot cakes! Thank you for your comment!

It is a real shame some brands just seem to ignore watch enthusiasts with smaller wrists! I hope they make a smaller version so you can wear this piece elegantly!

Nicely done,   that is a beautiful watch.   It is a good keep sake to pass down to your children.   Nice

I have the full polish on the two-piece nato strap.

Excellent choice! I love all versions of it but something about the full polish version gives it an added elegance!

Yes, but it is a fingerprint and smudge magnet. 😂 If you like the Lunar Pilot, you may appreciate some of the other Bulova Archive and Military releases. I have a number of other Bulova watches that I enjoy as much as my Lunar Pilot.

That is true😂 Really? I'll have to look through some of the models are there 3 you would recommend as your top 3?

I think there are a lot of great models in both series, but here are the three I have in my collection in addition to the Lunar Pilot.

Image

The Computron, a reissue of the LED watch from the '70s which is fun and nostalgic.

Image

The Hack, a reissue of the Bulova US Army WWII era field watches.

Image

The Oceanographer or Devil Diver, a reissue of the iconic '70s diver's watch, and which is ISO compliant.

There are others I am interested in; the A15 Pilot and the Mil-Ships, but these are the three I have so far.

WOW! The Oceanographer is stunning I will definitely be looking more into that piece! Thank you for your awesome comments!

The dial is so clean and legible, even though it is a bit busy. I sold mine, I am a bit disappointed but I had one too many watches and I wanted the one on the bracelet.

Excellent chronograph.

Same. Great watch, but just too big for me.

I'm a 40-42 as well, perfect size!!

Awesome pick!

You all say that until some pretty watch face comes along and flashes a cute strap at you and then your off to greener pastures. Your all alike...unfaithful!

I agree. It is really a fun watch. I found it for less than $100 on ShopHQ of all places. 😂

These are so cool!

Here's one I own and another couple of new release Bulova Hacks I was eyeing off, both the Hacks are 37mm and the orange diver is 41mm.

Great watch you picked up, so enjoy my friend 🙏

I like these newer Bulova Hacks and they are reasonably affordable for what you get 👍

I love the watch and I have one.  Despite being a big watch, it wears really well on my small wrist.  This watch is a clear example of how a watch wears vs what the numbers say.
