Squale - Yay or nay?
I have had this Squale 1545 for quite some time. I absolutely love it and it is sentimental to me. Gaining 7 seconds a day, is built like a tank and fits perfectly. I know this is a homage but I could never justify spending $10k plus for something that does the same as this watch. Would love to add the 1521 to my collection in blue.
What Is your experience with Squale?

No, it comes with the leather strap like in @foghorn’s picture. I don’t like leather, so I paid extra to get a bracelet.
It’s the Montauk, by the way, which is a LIW exclusive.

Most people love Squale. Owned one, new and flipped it after wearing it just days. Was thoroughly unimpressed. 🤷🏼♂️
I don't own a Squale but I'd like to at some point. So, I guess that makes me a yay.
1521 is a great watch! I have the Onda exclusive from Gnomone and prefer it over my 1545 GMT. Movement has been <+5 seconds/day, polishing is great and the case is perfect for my 7” wrist. The particular model I purchased came with a horribly matched blue leather strap that I put on a different watch. I’ve since purchased the mesh bracelet from LIW and an original Tropic in light grey.
One thing I should mention… it doesn’t bother me, but I’ve heard others complain about the crown being difficult to use.

The clasp is a bit of a scratch and fingerprint magnet but shouldn’t bother anyone except the wearer :) It is a very good fit to the lugs that makes it a little more challenging to set the pins so I tend to keep it on the bracelet. I would recommend with any 1521 with a fully polished case.

Looks great! I’ll have to take a look at one for my polished blue 1521.

Forgot to mention. The links use pins, not screws as squale bracelets typically do.
I’d say YAY!!! Love the brand hugely but you need the Squale batons with the orange minute hand. The Mercedes hands should only be on one brand imo ! I need another Squale !!!!!!!
