How did you get the virus

Hey gang can you show me your first watch that made you intoxicated to our hobby?

Sure wish I had a picture of that first watch….I’m too old and maybe photography wasn’t invited yet.

im not sure where I caught the bug maybe my grandfather or father who had nice pieces but I can remember walking through a Tourneau and being mesmerized with all of the options and different brands and THATS the moment.

I’ve been back to that store many times and still get weak in the knees…

Mine was a fashion watch, but i bought 3 of the damn things before getting wise and realising how much more you can get for your money. My first proper watch, an automatic, was the Seiko SRP629K1

It's a simple little thing. What i dislike the most about it, is that the crystal is raised, so the edge sticks up above the bezel, making it prone to chips (it has a few!). It's just a knock around watch these days.

My current #1, my most worn watch which has become a cornerstone in the collection, is the Helm Vanuatu (currenly on the SS2 bracelet, which is normally on their Khuraburi Model).

The purchase of a grand complication watch for under $1000.00 and I dove headfirst into the watch collector's hole.  #seagull #tourbillion #retrograde #sugess

This one got me into the madness back in 2017:

SRP779: My first automatic. Back then I didnt know anything about watchsizes, case curvature and so on... after a few weeks I realised the turtle was way to big and heavy for my tiny 6.5 inch wrist. I flipped it and the rest is history 😆 many other watchstyles followed... dress-, field-, chronos, and of course other divewatches joined my collection. I onced had over 10 watches and it was to much. Made the purge and now I try to stay under 10 or even better under 8 🤙

This is the one that turned my head a long time ago. It’s been quite the rollercoaster.
