New OceanKing!
Crunch fam! You local Monta fanboy checking in regarding the new OceanKing release that just went live for preorder today. What are y’all’s thoughts on the redesign? Specs seem pretty on par with prior generations, but the new dial design, bezel design, updated clasp, and overall slight design tweaks do look nice to me. Not 100% sure I love it enough to take wrist time away from my blue steel OK, but interested to hear everyone’s thoughts.
Personally, I see this redesign falling inline with the new Skyquest that released not too long ago. I do like the redesign, but at the same time, I feel that I was more drawn to the original versions.
Nothing wrong with the redesigns, just a thought. I am interested in getting some hands on with the new bezels and clasps most. What are your thoughts?
I have a soft spot for Monta being a STL native, and also since a Noble was my first decent watch I got for myself. Will without a doubt be a loyalist to this brand for years to come! Thanks for reading and may your seconds hands keep sweeping on 🙂

I like Monta, but one of the draws to an independent is having something unique.
This design is a Mercedes hand away from homaging the most copied watch in the world, and that leaves us wondering what Monta's identity is.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a similar thought the first time I saw the redesign.
I think thought alone is a big reason I enjoyed the original designs from the earlier versions more. Thanks for the comment!

I like your steel bezel iteration a lot more. I agree with the general perception. The design is too similar to the Submariner. It needed a different color bezel or a different font, or some unique design choice, to stand out. (and this coming from a Noble owner myself).
I love it. Digging the handset (especially that seconds hand) and the date at 6 is very well done.

Much appreciated and I have to agree with you. I love the Monta team and the Noble was my first Monta. I just wonder what their design plan is going forward. Will be interesting to see next steps! Wear your noble in good health!

The hands are arguably one of my favorite parts of Montas. They really know how to hit a home run with those!
