I get you're point, but then they would have to do something to the rest of the watch to elevate it.
It would be strange to have tje same watch just with a different movement in the entry level and professional line.
I guessing they will come out with 6r version of this and make a prospec gmt.
I'm into collecting watches that could be one watches ( read boring ), but if I could have just one it would be my DJ 36, even over my Explorer.
If it had to be affordable ( say I was forces to cash out ) my Leijona.
I agree with this. What Rolex could and should do is make the waitlist transparent whitout any preferred customer ps. They have their ad:s in so tight leash it could pe possible.
Many people would wait few years for their watch if they knew the eventually get it. That would cool the market.
I feel the same as many have said here, that almoust every high production value medias will try to sell you something, just take everything with that aproach and you will be fine.
I feel Hodinkee still makes good things. They should double down on the talking watches ( with real enthusiasts ) and the watches in wild. I rarely read their articles word to word unless I'm really interested on the topic.
When company gets bigger it's enevatable that they grow out of their roots. Similar thig has had with W&W but I feel they acknowleged it. Zack Weiss said one of their podcasts something along the lines that, the guy ( himself) who started W&W probably wouldn't agree whit what W&W is to day. Made me respect them more, ideals just move aside when thigns grow.
I wonder if he really knew the watch was fake, since he was so happy to give it to you to hold.
I once was in a party and saw a navitimer on a persons wrist. I compleme teh the watch and right a way he said, " oh no it's fake I just like the looks but not going to pay that much for a watch."
I didn't know what to thing, but I think if you take out the crime aspect behind fake watches I thought it was bretty cool he was so honest about it. He wasn't trying to pass it as a real deal.
But ether way, better not to say anything.
I don't understand why people use term womens watch as an insult. I would have no problem wearing a watch that a brand has labeled as a womens watch if I liked the design.
For me the 36 is the right size. I owned the 214270 mark2 and allthough it was a great watch it was too big for me and something about the porpotions was off, maybe too much empty space on the dial.
When the new 36 came out I sold my 39mm and bought the new one.
