Bezel-less G-Shock?

Before you ask, no, this is not a G-Shock assassination. I love my G-Shock.

It's just that I've always wanted one and finally pulled the trigger and ... well ... it's bulky on my wrist.

It keeps getting caught inside sleeves and stuff.

Then one day I put on my F91W, which I hardly wear because it looks too small on my wrist, but I couldn't believe how comfortable and wearable it was.

It was a beautiful moment of clarity.

I need to slim down my G-Shock....so I went for it.

Measure twice, cut once.

Got some red straps and cut them to shape.

The result is ... a bit odd if I'm honest, but much more comfortable and slips in and out of sleeves like an assassin.

I love it 😁

What do you think?

Looks good

Nice shape and size. The big pushers look a bit odd, but maybe could be seen as stylish proportions by some.

But the plastic looks a bit cheap and unfinished.

I’m with you, but that’s sort of GShock’s thing. Big and bulky. Some of them are so over the top I can’t believe people actually wear them with a straight face. But even the smaller ones probably need some of that bulk to be as protecty as they need to be.

I'd probably be better off with a 'normal' Casio, it's just with this I have 200m water resistance and solar charging....

I think you're right, they're obviously bulky for a reason....to be honest most of the time I wear a dress watch so I probably made a mountain out of a mole hill....

I think it's cool, and it sounds like it fits your needs perfectly. I actually think the big pushers are fine, they give it a chrono look.

Tbh it looks like a naked watch to me. The square face gshocks have a look I'm used too, so this feels unfinished. Also, since the pushers stick out so much now they very well may get caught on clothing or other places.

Just my opinion though. If you like it, wear it. However, you can also consider a different watch? The W800H sounds like it fits most your needs:

The pic isn't exactly accurate, the screen is the same as your current watch, no blue tinge. It has a 10 year battery, 100m water resistance, dual time, stopwatch, etc. And smaller on the wrist than a gshock. I would recommend a screen protector to go with it since all these watches will scratch up with enough wear.

Love it!

Cheers!

great job man!

The only thing that bothers me about my 5610 is that the pushers are a little bit difficult to opperate. I think that your mod solves this issue, but I am not sure if I am ready to go this step…

Perfect, do it again and again, and as a reward for my early enthusiasm for your so-obvious-its-genius idea you should send me one for a "cut rate." In all seriousness I think its beautiful and it evokes a protrek.

·

I... don't hate it.

If you'd just posted the pic, I'd assume it was just a different model of the 1000's of Casio's out there.

Well executed & sharp

I think you're right.... I've just looked at it and like the gold variant.

Thanks! So it's kinda two sizes, the part under the pushers is 42mm and the part around the display are 36mm...but obviously it's way thinner now, like one and a half F91W thick.

I hear that... it's nice now that they're easy to push, but I didn't realise they're not all the same size....but it's not very noticeable.

Looks good. I think I like the way the pushers stick out.
