Have you meet any Crunchers in person

I am curious if you have meet people in real life because of WatchCrunch? I have meet several people at meetups and watch shows that I have first meet here.

Sounds good.

None from here but I have attended a few get togethers sponsored by other fora.

Nothing is quite a boring as talking about watches to other watch nuts in person.

The internet is much better.

Thank you for your perspective, the online banter can be a lot of fun. I like the in person meetups where you get to check out other watches in person.

LOL, I like the fact you both have the same first name, I just kept thinking Brian squared to remember your names. 😭 Only half as much to remember. Shall we up grade you to Brian 2?

Planning on meeting up with a Cruncher at the end of the week. I was fortunate enough to meet many Crunchers in NYC for the Windup Watch Fair in NYC (Coopers & Hawk). I didn't realize that you can search for Crunchers in your city/town/state. Figured this out about a month ago, it's cool feature.

Great question and post Kevin.

Yes and that would be you.

And was my pleasure to meet you.

I stopped by my regular multi brand ad one day last year to pick up a watch that I ordered delayed by some snafu, when I was buzzed in the affable young owner along with his senior sales guy were sitting with a gent who was obviously a serious watch guy but who also regarded the hobby in a light hearted take it or leave it mindset that aligns with my own point of view. A few days later I noticed a post on Watch Crunch where the same enthusiast gives a positive shout out to our ad, I decided to follow him a nod that he returned. Closest that I have come to meeting another member of Watch Crunch.

That rocks to meet that way.

If it counts my good friend @abelBGNR is a Cruncher, but I made him one 😁. But as I can see, the members are mainly from the US, so it's a hard case to meet anyone from Hungary, but I would love too!

I would try setting up a meetup somewhere.

Thanks glad to hear I am not the only one trying to meet others.

I have been collecting watches for much too long, was really impressed with the watches that my new acquaintance sources including a Patek perpetual calendar moonphase that he posted sometime before the end of 23! One man’s ceiling is another guy’s floor according to old Paul Simon song, haha.

It is so cool to get to see watches you may or may not have a chance to see otherwise. I have seen a few in person that are just limited or that I would not buy myself but are fun to get to see non the less.

100% agree! I dabbled first with vintage, eventually high horology but my pockets are not deep enough so I buy what I can and happily live vicariously! Have a great day! 👍

I was social distancing before it was cool, so no.

That works.

I have talked to a couple people on here I think I’d enjoy meeting, including you, but on the other hand I’ve had and seen a few people completely go off for no reason so I’m hesitant. 🌈

Stan, it would be my pleasure to meet you at some point and I also understand your hesitation. Most I have meet on here I have meet at meetups and watch shows so there is the social buffer there that helps the process for me.

Awesome! I lived in the Norfolk area a long time ago. I remember driving through a blizzard in the mountains going straight east in a Buick regal sliding around pretty much terrified and being so grateful when I got down to sea level and it had turned to a downpour with about ten feet of visibility. True story and I would have honestly gotten a hotel room and waited it out but I was on leave and had to get back.

Winter storms in VA can get dicey that is for sure.
