Did Timex release a winner with this new Waterbury Chronograph?
Or is the timing function a downfall?

Same exact movement and dial layout as this model from the "Intelligent Quartz" series from around 12 -15 or so years ago. Just a few minor design changes and now a "Waterbury".
Nothing really new here.
I'm a big Timex fan, but not of this one.
I owned the original Intelligent Quartz and the retrograde scales are a PITA to read.

Did not know about this one but you have confirmed what I was thinking on this new release.
It looks odd and maybe a little hard to read...but I like it for some reason. 👍 I'd have to see one in the metal though.
I think seeing it in person would be the final decider for sure. I want to like it because it is outside the box thinking but I feel it looks so hard to use I am further away.

Original dial layout for sure. But also quite busy and difficult to read, which I find inconsistent with the pilot style of the watch.

I find the time tracking to look to be really confusing.

I'm not a fan.
I think the only way I might get one is just because it's quirky. But, even as a master appreciator of the whimsical, that's not enough.

Yeah, it is odd but I do not think in a good way.
Yeah, a real winner. 🙄
Yeah, a real winner. 🙄
Hate knocking a brand for trying but….
My jury is still out on this one. Nothing against Timex of course, just not sure.

I want to like it but I do not see how it could be a useful as a timer.
Too busy
Looks too confusing to me
Exactly
Ugh. The cockeyed date window.

That feature I sort of like. I think it could work on the correct dial.
Option 'E' for me. Trying to do too much with a single model.

Yes.
43mm makes it a non-starter for me

Yeah it is a big boy.
That date window hurts my heart.
