SO, as some of you may seen my post from 04/07, A couple weeks ago I picked up an Islander ISL-141 diver with abalone dial (a Seiko Monster homage more or less).
The day after I received it, my wife and I took a trip to Atlantic Beach here in N.C. for her birthday. I decided to wear the Islander down to the beach and do a sort-of photoshoot with some shells on top of our Igloo cooler. (And a shot of our miniature pinschers, Bella and Mickey, too!)
Enjoy!
P.S. The camera I used is a Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Tamron 28-200mm f 1:3.5-5.6 LD
Been collecting watches since around 2014, although the watch that kicked off my obsession was a G-Shock 5600 I received in 2011 as a birthday gift. I currently have about a dozen Casio/G-Shock watche...
It's a handsome watch. Islander are unjustly (IMO) branded as Seiko knockoffs. I think they are long past this stage and I like what they have to offer.

I am of the same opinion. Marc explicitly created the ISL-019, and similar models,as a replacement for the discontinued SKX. How can you knockoff a watch that doesn’t even exist anymore? People are just pissed because Islander offers SKX style watches with better specs. Nowadays you are gonna pay $800, $900 for a Japanese SKX import, and it doesn’t hack or have a sapphire crystal.
Great looking watch! I like the Islander catalog, but for me, your dogs steal the show hahaha minpins are so cool!
I gotta show a picture of Max as well!
Love the watch, and the min pins!
Great watch. Living in it’s natural habitat!
I’m sucker for doggies lately… 🥰… oh yeah nice watch…
Islander watches are a great value

We are definitely hooked on the breed. Bella is 12 (13 in June). She went blind in 2021, but she has taken it all in stride. Mickey is a rescue who was used for breeding and was found by animal control with 20 other min pins at some ladies home. The vet thinks he is around 10 or maybe younger. He has a lot of energy but he’s greying quite a bit in places. He’s had a rough go of things but he is getting spoiled and living out the rest of his time in luxury.

I'm sorry to hear about Bella's blindness, how do you help her with it?. Also, I'm glad to hear that Mickey found a good home with you guys.
MinPins get grey hair quite fast; Max is 11 and he is the only MinPin I've seen that has very few grey hair, we have no clue as to why he hasn't gotten more, he still has a lot of energy and we go on long walks very often, but he sleeps a little more than he used to.
It's always good to know about another MinPin lover! 🍻

We just have to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t jump off the bed or couch and warn her when she’s about to run into something. She has lived in two different apartments since her blindness and has learned the layout very quickly. Most people when they see her at the dog park don’t pick up right away that she can’t see anything.

Cool Islander. 😎 It's a diver, right? WR200M right? You're on the beach, right? Take shots of it on the sand!
On the rocks or coral... with barnacles!
In the water!!
And... under water!!

It was way too cold and windy out that day. The beaches in N.C. don't start to get warm enough, at lest to me, until about June or so. Maybe when I was a young whippersnapper I would have jumped in, but I'm much too old and wise for that these days.
