Maybe my first Astron??!!

so since woke up crazy early on a Saturday, been checking out some watches off course, and I thought myself hmmm I don’t have a Seiko Astron?!! I was not a fan since the dials are far too busy but Alas!! Stumbled upon this thing..
I was like no way!! Astron with Shippo like dial!!
for reference:( I was eyeing this Shippo enamel for a while)
And I was thinking I don’t have enough blue dials in my collection, weirdly I have a lot of greens …anyways wanted to ask you guys if you have any experience with this Astron ? Also all I know are the specs, it’s titanium, perpetual calendar, radio control something…something… quartz…. And 39mm case which is awesome…but not a fond of the bracelet though…

I think us watch nerds to get hung up on mechanical as the only option, there's nothing wrong with a quartz and if going that way, might as well go for the best #seiko

glad I'm that the only one that suffers this 😜 typically with Seiko the purple dial variant is a limited edition. to me its looks gorgeous and most importantly different 👍

I don't own any of the Astrons, but I've toyed around with the idea of getting one for a while. They're supposed to be pretty nice and there are a ton of different variations to choose from. The one that's caught my eye most recently has been the SBXC113 limited edition. Very striking silver dial and I really like the case design on this one.

I own a few Astrons with the busy dials and I can say I've had no issues and I wear them. Quality wise I'd say they place at or slightly above the Presage line but definitely not Grand Seiko.

The older Astrons are much larger, a fact that I think had to do with the movement size. The newer, feature packed, & more compact movement in these newer models is spectacular. I think it will wear slightly larger than its numbers suggest, but not much larger.
