This changed when I was unfortunately hospitalised in a psychiatric hospital due to a mental health condition I suffer from. (I'm much better now, thank god).
We weren't allowed to carry cellphones, so for the first time in my life I actually needed a watch to tell the time!
Started with a small digital casio, and from then my interest in watches grew and grew.

My watch addiction started when my father gave me his gold Omega seamaster back in the mid 80s. The watch was lost during a house move, really miss it.
I wore this watch as a kid, it was my dad’s and he almost never wore it. My brother has it now (long story), but it started my interest in watches over 40 years ago.
Idk if it’s a specific watch, but growing up, my father always made sure my brother and I were equipped with watches. As I got older, I continued wearing watches, but reallly dived into it as a hobby back in 2019.
I had a silver casio calculator watch as a little kid. The current one is DBC611-1VT. Later my dad got me a skeletonized, handwinding Invicta. I wound that thing every day for a long time. More recently I got a gwg 1000 mudmaster and that has reignited my love for watches.

I usually didn't wear any watches.

Not sure if it started the journey as such, but it's the one I've kept the longest.

Thank you 😊

It looks bronze but is just anodised I think. It's from the late 90s and hasn't aged, so not bronze.

Such a cool watch. 🔥
Glad you're feeling better. ❤
This little Air King was my grandfathers and is definitely what started me obsessing over watches from a very young age.

Same story.
This is my late father’s watch, a gift from his parents on his 21st birthday in 1956.
A watch like yours and this one are true connections to our families, our memories, our heritage, our past.
Words cannot describe how very special they are.

The lowly Timex Camper mechanical watch. Sold for $25 in 1990. That sells for over $100 now.

A divisive watch. I love the Elvis 80 variant.
That.... That is amazing.

Indeed. I love the styling though, so I don’t give a rat’s a$$ what others think. 😜LOL
