Hello Crunchers ๐๐ฝ Hope you all are doing well ๐
It's been a while since I last posted anything here. And I thought I should check in and update you on the current watch situation before the year ends.
Firstly, no, the watches never stopped. Probably never will. The collection just keeps on growing. I guess I just missed a lot of NWAs here.
Secondly, my taste and collection have been shifting over the last few months. Been a Kashio guy for years. But nowadays I feel a lot more attracted towards vintage mechanicals. Picked up quite a few. Got some serviced. Enjoying this new genre.
So between GShock and vintages, I think my taste in watches was aptly summarised by @throughphantomeyes, "thriving for what's lasting long" โ one lasts a lifetime, another been through aย lifetime!
Okay, I'll try to keep the pace up this time and keep uploading wristies of the vintage beauties. This Enicar is one of them. It's an Ultrasonic series ref. 100/148, circa 1959.
That's all for now. Hope you're having a good time with family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy 2024, in advance! Wishing great health to everyone! ๐๐ฝ๐โ

I am getting drawn more to vintage although only have one. I think it is because of seeing the vintages watches here. Yours is great !
Did you know Enicar is Racine backwards?
My grandmother inherited an Enicar Small Seconds from my grandfather because when he was very ill, he gave it to her so she would know when to give him his medicines. After he passed away, she always wore it on her wrist. I inherited it, but when my house was robbed back in 2018, it was the watch that hurt the most to lose. I want to replace it at least to remember my grandmother, but I haven't found one yet. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, vintage pieces have their own charm. Very hard to ignore.
Thanks for the kind words, Paul!

Yes. I'm actually working on a post on Enicar history and this watch. Got to know a lot of things during the research. This photo will be part of that post.

And probably they never will ๐ค Happy Holidays ๐ป
This is a beautiful watch, absolutely love Enicar Watches. I recently just inherited my Great Grandfatherโs Enicar which we wore during his time as an Aircraft Technician in the Air Force. Iโll be keeping an eye out for your post on Enicars History!

That's fantastic! Do show us the vintage timepiece ๐
Oh God - an unmolested Enicar, good find.
Youโll appreciate this 1940s one then.
