In 2022 I have purchased two Seiko Alpinists - have others made similar double purchases for their collection?
Edited to add context. I only 'discovered' the Alpinist in January 2022 and then bought the Prospex 'Mystic Forest' Alpinist - Boutique Exclusive SPB289J1 (left watch). I had seen pictures of the Ginza but assumed they were sold out given that they were listed on Ebay for £1,000-1,400. Then my local AD had one in their window for £670. They even gave me a 15% discount and so I added the Prospex 'Ginza' Alpinist - 140th Anniversary SPB259J1 (right watch). I put the Ginza on the additional (Seiko) leather strap supplied with Mystic Forest to give a workday watch (the Ginza) and a weekend watch (the Mystic Forect)

Yes…here’s a few minus the Turtles I sold those off to make room …
Oh yeah here’s more…
Also did I ever mentioned I have twin identical daughters as well 😆…
Infrequently, but I have bought two of the same family.
I have also bought the same style in Islander watches; I have both an #ISL-32 (the first one) and an #ISL-98. I also have three Islander Pilot watches; an #ISL-79, an #ISL-99, and an #ISL-102. Finally, I have an #ISL-53 and an #ISL-134.
Had fun with these....
When 1990's watches become a vintage phenomena you will be well positioned.
I don't have any as closely related as those 2 Alpinists, but I do have multiple variations of the Omega Speedmaster. I think they are all different enough that I don't feel there is overlap, but it would be difficult to put up a compelling argument to support that :-)

I only really wear the Series 1 Mk II Formula 1 and the steel/gold 3000 with any regularity.
I fear the 1WC will act as the catalyst to finally trimming the collection.
not currently, but hope to.
