Packing a watch or 2, for travel

Yesterday, @pez1980 had a great post on deciding which watches to bring along: https://www.watchcrunch.com/pez1980/posts/travelling-with-watches-3-322194

My question is how do you pack the watches you bring along? Recommendations for a travel case, something smallish? I am guilty of dropping the extra watch or two into the same fabric pouch as any extra jewelry I'm bringing - I never worried much about my SKX getting dinged... but as I get nicer things, I do worry about scratching them needlessly.

I use a waxed canvas roll I picked up from Amazon. I also have a couple of single watch pod/cases, but I prefer the roll. I just put the roll in with my clothes so they provide the padding, rather than take a padded case.

I tend to be conservative on this. I like to cruise, and so I travel about one or two times a year. In the past my go to for travel has been my Omega Railmaster. No need to pack a case as it’s on my wrist. I like this for a few reasons. In appearance it’s a bit low key - attracting less attention from potential thieves. Also, the watch is a strap monster. So rather than take two watches and taking the associated risks, I traditionally taken the Railmaster and a few quick change straps. I like the canvas to be low key and an ostrich for dress. I’ll add a few pics.

That's true. I never think about using my quick change straps to byild in variety without dealing with locking a watch in the hotel room safe.

It’s a strategy that has proven satisfying for me. Reduced risks, because even if you use a hotel (or cruise ship) safe, the hotel (or ship) takes no responsibility. This has been repeat and many times over the internet. When traveling, always remember that you are at a security risk to people that target tourists. If you only have one watch, and it’s on your wrist, you are only at that much risk. Quick change straps allow you to switch things up, so I can wear my Railmaster at the pool on the canvas, or to the steakhouse on the leather. I do sometimes wear other watches, such as my Seamasters, while on vacation. But the same rule applies; one watch multiple quick change straps.

I use a watch pod that holds two watches. I try to make sure I have my bases covered. A go anywhere watch, a dress watch and one other that fits the trip. Like a dive watch for Hawaii. Or a Gshock for camping.

And a 4 watch roll that I got in the same place, although they don't do it anymore, for mine and my Mrs watches.

Like @MikeShaw, I have a couple of those simple watch cases. Not fancy, but functional and compact.

I have a two slot case and a three slot case. I bring the small one, the larger one, or both depending on how many watches are coming with me.

Then I toss a few straps and a couple extra spring bars in a zipper pouch and I'm done.
