Rectangular sports watch?

I did not like the band that came on my Longines Dolce Vita. So I ordered a new brown leather band. While I am waiting on this band I decided to try one of my MN elastic strap with it . I am not sure if it works but I kind of like the look. I know that rectangular watches are usually considered dress watches, but I remembered that the whole reason the JLC Reverso was invented was as a sports watch that men could wear as they played polo. So maybe this style of case is due a renaissance of its sport roots. What do y’all think?

The Reverso was also a sports watch for the very rich polo players who could destroy anything and afford it. It could flip to avoid scratching the crystal. The Santos is more of a sports watch with its ugly industrial screws all over the face. black leather makes a tank pretty and refined. I think Longines and Oris do the best tanks.

Tag Heuer Monaco is quite square too.

I have a Reverso and it was definetly not because of it’s sport roots. It’s just stunning. I think the squared or rectangular case just make a statement. Of what I’m not shure but it’s different and beatiful. Your Dolce Vita looks great and will look even greater with your new strap.

I'm into it.  That's a good combo.
