Class Vs Wealth

We all know "Luxury" by definition means something that generally costs comparatively more than "non-luxury" in the same category of goods or services - and unfortunately lot of times people mistake spending on 'luxury' with buying 'class' - but thankfully Class and Finesse doesnt always have to be accompanied by wealth or money, luxury or exclusivity - Class is something more subtle and gifted - it can be improved over time through observation, thoughtful approach and reflection but cant be purchased in stores or malls overnight.

While I do love buying good brands and so-called luxury too from time to time, price or brands have never been my sole criteria of "class" - Sharing this picture today for example - This is an inexpensive watch - inexpensive but classy and looks beautiful especially when paired with right outfit and accessories - Share your examples of sheer class which may have been acquired regardless of the price of the watch - I would love to see it - Happy weekend

Just look to someone like Producer Michael to see that money doesn’t buy class.

(I’m sure he’s a lovely fella and I don’t begrudge him anything, but I sure as hell wouldn’t let him decorate my house!)

Thank you so much. It was a gift from one our fellow Crunchers. Definitely a cherished piece for me.

Great post...and surely a trueism.

We can all see that Richard Mille and Jacob & Co. while making incredibly expensive watches completely lack class in the design and for those who want to signal their wealth by wearing one also lack class.

Here are some from my collection that I would consider to be class...

Oh dear, so many since you just described my watch buying strategy: value + class! How about this one? Cheap (relative) and to my eye beautiful

Thanks- I’m slowly learning that cost doesn’t equal beauty 😊

·

Imo class is not showing off your wealth. Buy what you like without worrying about other people's perception.

That Hamilton is a serious looker 👌

I think "class" is a tricky term, with three different meanings that immediately come to mind, at least for me. But I would agree that being well-dressed doesn't mean that somebody dresses expensively, but appropriately and with a purpose.

I lack the fashion sense of many here, but have enjoyed dressing up a few of my humble collection.

The Mido Belluna II Heures et Minutes Décentrées. Not tough to find at ~500 USD at Ashford's etc' so definitely not expensive yet IMHO very classy.
