So, I picked up this little chap from ebay in much need of some TLC. It was pretty dirty and wasn't running very well at all.
The case had some fairly significant dings and scratches to sort and the movement was drier than a Pharaoh's kidney.
Firstly, it's a case of removing those dings and scratches. You have to be careful not to compromise the case shape too much here by removing too much material... it's easy to go too far. (Not that I've ever done that 😏)
Once we've got the case sorted it's on to the movement. This one is a 7006 from 1974. It had a French only Day Wheel so I replaced it with an English one when I serviced it. I also fitted a new acrylic crystal ( as per the original) and new gaskets.
It now runs very well and I think it turned out OK. What do you reckon?
Next up I have a 7S26 "5" with a full lume dial and after that it's a Bellmatic on which the alarm works but not much else.
Until next time lovely people. ❤

A lovely job and tempting as ever! Having seen it in the flesh I can attest to its retro charms appearing as new!
Lovely. What was the brown stuff between the lugs? Human skin turning into a leathery dust, or so me form of corrosion?
Human skin, dust, dirt... Nice 🤣
Stellar job! It looked like it was buried in a pile of bark mulch (not sure if that term is used in the UK)
Nice job with the restore.
Lovely watch, nice restoration. Well done!
I second the motion of @Guvnor64 💯 It's quite charming indeed! 😍 Awesome job again, bud! 🍻

Oh good, as long as your safe🤣😅
I have a soft spot for vintage Seiko watches and this one is particularly lovely. Great job restoring it to its former glory!
