Thank you for volunteering for the New Mars Colony Project. Your endeavors will be paramount in constructing a safe and habitable colony for organic life forms such as yourself. This is a reminder that this could be a one way trip.
You are allowed to bring a limited amount of personal objects due to weight constraints. As you are an ambassador of Watch Crunch we know that timepieces are considered a valuable asset for you and we have allowed you to bring one timepiece on this trip. 'Nuff said. 😎
Would take my Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Tough Titanium. No resources needed to support it other than light.
Breitling Cosmonaut:
This wristwatch has analog calculations which can be computed with the bezel and other scales on the watch.
It is in 24-hour format, which is important for getting a better sense of the time and for UTC.
The watch is a chronograph
Omega Skywalker X-33 Mars version
Has timing functions that are tailored for cosmonautics as well as a digital clock for Martian sol time.
Analog portion is unfortunately totally useless, as it is in 12-hour. Good thing it has the above positive qualities
As soon as I had been selected as one of the colonists, I contacted the G Shock division of Casio watches and asked them for a modified G Shock G5600U. The modification is a special module that has both the standard Earth day, week, month, and year calendar, but also has a secondary day and year calendar calibrated for the 24.5 hour and 1.89-year Martian day and orbital period. The solar module is also the best Casio produces, with a 12 month reserve when fully charged, and modified for the lower solar energy received on Mars.
My Zelos Aurora Field Aventurine Anti-magnetic 200m. I'll have it in 5 days!

All of this but with a titanium bezel and strap. And maybe a protective cover in addition to the best available sapphire
I would bring my Nodus Avalon II. While this watch may not be the most functional as a tool on Mars, it is far and away my most beautiful watch. When stranded on the red planet, I think having objects of beauty will go along way towards preserving my sanity.
The Lunar Pilot of course.
Seiko SBDB009
Good lume and legibility and tough as hell!

That's gorgeous
My Breitling Night Mission GMT

Literally a stellar watch with interplanetary fame 🍻
Because if I'm going on a one-way trip; I'm going in style...
Yeah, well... while still on Earth will take this one. Easy to read, keeping track of GMT time and thin enough to wear with a nato or single pass strap:
Something with a hesalite crystal to avoid any possible issues whilst on route to Mars.
Better find a watch that has an extra 37 minutes per day.
Better find a watch that has an extra 37 minutes per day.
Maybe it’s more of a keepsake, something to track the hours on earth.
But that would be an interesting design for a new watch. One that would be geared for Martian Sols instead.
