Oh, another channel I like, Peter Kotsa’s
https://youtube.com/@PeterKotsa
He also talks about WHY stuff does/doesn’t work for him.
He’s on here! @PeterKotsa 👋👋👋
I’ve been binge-watching the YoureTerrific channel https://m.youtube.com/c/YoureTerrific for a lot of these reasons. Evan reviews stuff he is interested in and while he does go over the specs, the real meat of his reviews is how the watch makes him feel, or if it has a curious place in the market or for the manufacturer, or if there’s something surprising about it, etc. He really focuses more on the intangibles. And his production is smooth and to the point as well.
Some of Hodinkee‘s articles used to be like this, primarily from Jack, but in the video space I haven’t seen anyone as successful.
I think the way you wear your bracelet makes a difference. The Casio bracelet is generally poor anyway, it’s style is not an indication that a better bracelet in the same style would be uncomfortable for you.
If you’re going to wear it tight I don’t think the larger and less articulated links of a decent oyster style bracelet would make much of a difference. A good oyster will still articulate smoothly over each link, it shouldn’t be stiff.
I like to wear mine very loose so for me articulation and taper are important, so I do prefer vintage-y beads of rice style or similar.
WELL.
There you go.
This is the Islander fitted FKM strap. It is absolutely excellent. Perfect fit, the orange matches the 011, and very comfortable as it’s not too thick and the FKM is very pliable. Two millimeter taper. Came with both metal and rubber keepers, I prefer the rubber. Marc did a great job speccing this out.
Dial is mostly Longines with a little Patek thrown in with those interrupted hashes and lack of center sector. I like the hands! They look to be pretty nice quality.
