Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze + Oris NYC boutique?

So last weekend I made the mistake of trying on BCPD bronze on the new bronze bracelet at the Windup. I was staying away from looking at Oris because I knew something there would speak to me and damn, this one did. It's gorgeous, size is perfect, feels like a tank, bracelet is so comfortable.

Anyone that owns one willing to share how the patina is developing? Have you been cleaning it? Anyone have the bracelet as well?

Also, what's a good NYC boutique for Oris, if anyone has had personal experience. I expect Watches of Switzerland and Tourneau TimeMachine would have the most selection?

Oh that’s really nice. Have you had any oxidation come off the bracelet on your wrist?

What made you go with the red dial, did you consider the others? I know I don’t want the brown, and I initially liked the green, but looking more it’s a tossup between the red/blue/green. Each has its own thing.

I can't imagine why @Ichibunz would think I've got thoughts on this watch, but since I'm here...I've had the green dial since May and love it.  At one point I wore it for about 40 days straight and was absolutely fine with it.  You nailed what it's like...feels solid, the bracelet is flexible and comfortable.  I won't say it's my favorite watch as they're too much like children for that, but aside from sentimentality, it's probably the watch I'd keep if I could only have one.

As for patina, the short version is if you're into it, get it, if not don't.  And let's be honest, you already know if you like this sort of thing (and I'm assuming you do or you wouldn't be thinking about getting this watch).  My experience is that the patina is more reddish than some other watches I've seen.  The BB58 bronze always looks browner to me than this watch, although I haven't seen it patinaed in person.  I've only "cleaned" it once when I got bored and rubbed it with a lemon slice, and in less than a minute it looked brand new.  That said, I've taken it in the pool numerous times, I shower with it on from time to time, and it gets splashed when I wash my hands.  That's all the cleaning it gets, but that seems to be enough that it doesn't get further down the patina road than it was a month into ownership.  I don't have a recent shot, but these are a good indicator...

As an afterthought, I really can't put a price on the way it shines in the sunlight.  I don't own any gold watches, but this in the sun makes me think of ancient gold coins or antique brass candlesticks shining in the firelight.  Not everybody's thing, but gorgeous to me.

Pop over the river to the Time Piece Collection on Englewood NJ.  Its a nice multi brand dealer that will treat you right and will make a deal on Oris for sure.  Got my Aquis DatWatt there.

ask for Jorge.

Thanks very much. Pretty much sold. Now, to pick a color and begin justifying…
