Dear WatchFam,
It's my first post on WatchCrunch and since we are entering a new year (2022), I'd love to know what you guys have in mind as a "grail" watch for this year?
For me, I'm zoning in on a nice Pilot's watch and am leaning towards a Zenith Type 20 or IWC Big Crown. I haven't owned either brand before, so any insight from the community would be great.
Cheers,
Toran

No purchases planned for 2022 (famous last words). But I've developed a fascination for Lange. Is the Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase a ridiculous timepiece? Yes. Do I want one? Also yes. If I were to name a timepiece my 'grail', I think that is it.
Am aspiring for JLC Reverso. In 3022...
I wouldn't necessarily describe any of my watch aspirations for 2022 as a grail but if we're defining by price, I'm hoping to land a YM40 rhodium. I was considering the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Grande Date for awhile but since next year is the 70th anniversary of the FF, I might as well wait and see if they do something special
Hey, cool to see you here! I watch your videos regularly 😄
As I already commented on a similar post, my grail for this year (hopefully) is the Zenith Chronomaster Sport.

Thanks for the feedback! The Chronmaster is an excellent choice :)

Lange is a great timepiece to aspire towards. Good luck with the watch fasting this year :)
I’ve been wanting a Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Skin, but now I think I may just save up a little (quite a bit) more for a Grand Seiko SBGN021.
I'm keeping my goals reasonable and just shooting for the Vertext M100 mkII when it comes out later this quarter.
Nice collection! Just one guy’s opinion, but i’ve always found the type 20s to be a bit homage-y, and the iwc‘s are more pure modern pilot’s watches - both still excellent brands and good 2022 goals

I'm torn between the Oris Aquis 400, the Black Bay 58 or the NOMOS Tangente Update in Midnight Blue. I can't afford either one so if I get a really good deal on any of them, I might.
But at the moment I'm just stuck.

Hang in there! If you save up for one of these grails it will feel very satisfying once you can bring one home :)
slowing down my velocity. I enjoy rotating in and out and experiencing new watches, but I think I will try enjoy them little longer before moving them on "for the next one"
Sounds good in theory, in practice is another story, lol
Prospex LX. It’s bonkers money for not even a grand Seiko, maybe even more than quite a few of them! … but I don’t love the grand Seiko sports models and I’m a heavy into sports type of dude.
Always liked zenith as well - good choice to shoot for one!
I’m a ways off from my grail, but it’s actually one you have in your collection! The grand seiko quartz gmt. I cant tell from the picture, but is your the black or the blue? Both look great!
