Thoughts on Two-Tone Sports Watches? The New TUDOR GMT Rootbeer
I've typically shied away from owning two-tone watches because I thought they might be a bit too flashy, flashy. That said, I did own a vintage two-tone Rolex DJ as a bit of a dress piece for a bit. I think the two-tone trend had it's place in the 80's or early 90's, but would love to get your feedback on this topic.
Recently, I picked up the TUDOR Rootbeer GMT and it might be winning me over! It's a more attainable luxury/sport steel and gold timepieces (move over Rolex GMT master's), and relative to the past steel Black Bay GMT, I enjoy the warmer tones and vintage styling a lot more. Maybe it's just me but I also found that the yellow gold accents on the bezel and crown breaks up the slab-sided case more, so visually the watch looks thinner than the older steel BB GMT. I'm aware that the dimensions between this Rootbeer and older steel GMT reference are identical though.

Congrats on the pick up, it’s a great watch for the money and looks the part in person. I cant go full gold, but love the look of some two tones.

Beautiful watch! Congratz on your purchase👍. I think Rolex and Tudor are setting the trend for two-tones by launching 2022 novelties in two-tones. I guess time will tell sooner than later whether it’s going to come true. I am a converted believer.😁

I hope so because I bought one and love it. I tend to wear it more of a dress type watch than a sport watch because I'm paranoid of scratching the capped gold links and don't think you could polish them?
Love it though because of the vintage look and colours.
I need to see this in person but from your video it looks amazing. I'll have to try one on with leather. I think Bandiera has one on leather right now 🤔
Absolutely. My grail is the Root Beer, probably because of lack of exposure from other great watch brands, but the colour combo just works so perfectly.
Side note, is this photo taken with the 28mm on M50? Looking for an alternative to 50mm with extension tubes. (Great shot!)
