Why do I do these things ... When another dead little Rallye model popped up on ebay for tiny money, I bid, won, refurbished and now I have two. It's just so much fun to revive these - dip, oil, re-lume, polish, adjust, Bob's your uncle.
This is a US made watch, distinguishable by being waterPROOF; it's built a little bit better than its UK brother.
It came as a bundle, with a '78 Timex Q with the interesting M73 quartz-regulated electro-mechanical movement. I'll post it as soon as I got that one running, too - fingers crossed.
Tinkering is fun 🤪🛠
The Before:
What about you, have you ever bought the same watch twice? Why?
I bought 3 of these to make 2 work perfectly
Let me know if you want to let one of yours go when you're done. It's a really cool watch!
Ive bought a donor for my Enigma Manual Bezel Winder, a screw on the bezel fell out and getting one custom made turned out to be more expensive than buying a donor. Hope to make a cool custom piece with the spare parts someday
awsome...never seen this model before
Bought this Samurai twice a couple of years ago. Both times screwing in the crown felt "gritty" and I sent them back. Later I learned that sometimes there's something in the threads and you can clean them by running dental floss or thread over them. I didn't know.
Nope, never done it. 😀
Does it count if they are different colours?
The green was a deal I couldn't pass on
I've bought multiple old Soviet SLAVA watches for the movements. Does that count?
What is the model of that Timex? I really like it.
I like that Timex may start scanning eBay but will stick to one lol

It's a 2777 (US) / 2767 (UK).
Slavas are cool, looking for a nice Tank myself. 👍
No matches, I'm afraid. A little more detail?

Ooh, me likie the tankie!
Don't really know more about the actual model, from the number I can only see they were made in 74 / 73.
