Buy a Watch, Save the World (The Edge168n homage) Seiko ReCraft SNKM97

As a reminder, this is the AliExpress homage of the Artist-Formerly-Known-As-Omeganut's (@HotWatchChick69) wildly successful charity auctions; I have much less brand recognition but just as much value to offer.

Thank you to all who participated in the original auctions and to @JackieMoon_LMS and @rowiphi (twice) for the winning bids.  Together we raised $3,003 for two wonderful and worthwhile organizations here in the Bay Area: the SF-Marin Foodbank and the Alameda County Food Bank.

I have been a decade long supporter of both organizations because there are very few nonprofits that have the impact on my community that AC and SF/Marin Food Bank do and even fewer that do at the same efficiency.

Respectively, 93 and 95 percent of all gifts go directly to food grant programs, rather than into administration or further fundraising.  As much as any nonprofit can be, they are efficient, well run machines that are devoted to ending hunger in the Bay Area. (Source: Charity Navigator).

While I don't have a fancy corporate match, I will personally double match the final bid of all of the three auctions with receipts to be posted at the end of the auction.  One bid, 3x the result split between two worthy organizations.  Can't beat it.

I originally had a notion that this was going to be a one time (or three time I suppose) thing, but as it turns out, I am incorrigible and buy entirely too many watches (including for friends and family). A friend didn't like this one (though I can't imagine why) so get ready boys and girls. We're going back to the Swinging Seventies.

Today, for your consideration, I am auctioning a modern classic, the Seiko Recraft SNKM97  The watch was sized once (for my wrist) and worn once. It is flawless.

Why I love this watch

I mean come on, look at it! It's so pretty!

Though I am no @Fieldwalker, I'd like to think of myself as a resident Seiko apologist. There is no watch manufacturer in the world that manages to create more beautiful and more creative dials at a multitude of pricepoints than any other manufacturer out there.

And the SNKM97 is no exception. The green sunburst dial is magnificent and the gold markers are bright and well chosen. I even love the pop of color on the orange seconds hand.

Even with the 43mm sizing, at 11mm in height, it huges the wrist beautifully. It's comfortable in that robust sort of way and is a worthy companion day to day.

Why I am selling this watch

Seriously, I don't need any more watches in the "not super sporty but definitely not dressy enough to wear into my office" range.

I'm also not someone who wears a ton of green clothing (or even clothing with green tones. So I find myself passing over this watch constantly....even with how much I like it. Yes, this is me being persnickety. But what watch dork isn't?
