Spring Bar Tweezers have been life changing for me.
And can't go wrong with watch books, collector catalogs etc. Of course, some collectors like the history and philosophy and some just like to look at the shiny pretty thing, so mileage may vary depending on person and type of book.

A timegrapher isn't that pricey ( around £100) & is an interesting gift for someone who has a few watches in their collection.
