Help me pick my next watch?

Hey Crunchers! I hope everyone is enjoying their day today! Im at home sick and have some extra free time to think about my next purchase 😂

I don’t normally do this, as I tend to just buy what I like, but I wanted to have some fun today lol. In all honesty, I’ll probably end up with both at some point anyway 😭😬

I’ve been wanting to get into the Omega brand for some time, but somehow, these models were placed in the back of my mind and forgotten about until this week. I’m generally more interested in 1980s-2000s era of watches, and narrowed down my selection to two models.

An Omega Seamaster Polaris, and a Constellation Manhattan. Both two tone, both quartz (I love me a good solid quartz!)

The Polaris speaks to me because of how quirky it is, and how “under the radar” it is. I don’t see these too often, and I believe it’s a true Genta design as well. (not that that makes a huge difference to me)

The Constellation is just something that I’ve always thought was absolutely sexy, especially in two tone 😁but I already have a Concord Mariner SG500 from the 1990s in two tone that looks very similar to the Constellation.

Anyway, the proper answer is BOTH! Actually maybe two of each 😂. But what do you guys think? Am I going insane as I edge closer to 30?

Here’s my Concord for reference, I still think I’m leaning towards the Constellation 😁

I love everything about this!

Depends 9n your style of dress. Wear jeans a lot Polaris. If you want button down shirts maybe the Constellation.

What I'm wearing today.

Bought it very cheap from eBay with a busted movement, sent it to WinskisofKinross and they put in a new modern movement for £200... I'm not fussed about originality as it's a keeper.

Reason I posted is because they do conversions of old broken mechanical watches into quartz, so that could be another option for you.

Of those two, I'd choose the Manhattan (but like you, I'll probably end up with both.)

If you can stretch your budget a bit I'd wait & get a quartz Aqua Terra - I paid £1300 for mine and it's by far the best quartz I own & was my most worn watch last year. Worth hanging out for.

Good luck 👍🏻

I do want to add an AT at some point!

I love quartz movements because I can service them myself with very little effort or hassle.

The gear train is pretty simple, and they aren’t super finicky. I also enjoy working on the old ETA 955.112 movements that power my 90s TAGs.

I have also been eying a quartz seamaster 300, but the prices are a little high right now. So many watches, such little income 😭

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat 🤣👍🏻

A lot of us are! I’m honestly just thankful for what I have at this point. I remember the days of lusting after watches that I currently own. It’s amazing how quickly we can forget how far we’ve come in the hobby!

Theres also the Seamaster Dynamic 2 quartz if you're looking for something different. Theres also a two tone version and a pvd version

It's pretty small though at 33mm.

Honestly - you can get a Constellation like that now in an Omega boutique (or at least there is a higher chance that they might bring the Manhattan back at some point), but you cannot get the Polaris. Go for a Polaris.

Nice 🔥 I’d go Polaris.

Yes. I co-sign this one. The other one is funky vintage. But this is classy and timeless vintage.

Never seen that seamaster, i think it's fantastic
