I would love to buy a new automatic watch preferably under $500 but could go up to $1,000 but no more. I live in the EU so not really willing to go through the bother of import duty and 23% tax. My 3 favourite automatic watches in my collection are my Longines Spirit, Hamilton Khaki Field and Tissot PRC 200 so don't want anything from the Swatch Group. I would prefer 28,000 BHP (but not a deal breaker) as all my other watches are below that. I'm more into casual/sports watches 40mm or less (50mm lug to lug max) but won't say no to more dressier pieces. I own a few Casios as well.
I don't care if it's a homage. I like the Steinhart Ocean One 39 black dial but I would love to hear other suggestions. I also don't have a GMT in my collection. Thanks.

Bulova has a new Oceanographer GMT coming out with a modified Miyota 9075 movement.

For what you want I’d take a look at French brand Baltic their Aquascaphe line get a lot of great reviews and they have an Acquascaphe gmt.
Is sapphire christal a thing for you or is mineral also ok?
Preferable but not necessary. Thanks.
Wolbrook, Serica, or Baltic?
Wolbrook just released their Skindiver II, good watch AND price.
The Serica 4512 is an awesome field watch.
Baltic has the Ti variant of their diver.
Recently another fellow asked a similar question. Please find there my listed watches with pictures.
Surplus I wpuld also recommend you my Junghans Spektrum. A two tone watch. The dark parts, the middle links of the bracelet, tge crown and tge bezel are made of scratch resistant ceramic. Inside beats a beautiful decorated Grand Seiko movement. Junghans unfortunately discontinued it, but there are still some pieces out there for quute less money. I got mine for around 800 euros.
You have a lot of options in that price range. And it's hard to know where to start. So many I/we might suggest. As such, I'm just going to mention the most recent one I was reading about which is the new update to the Mean Manhattan, which gives you the option of upgrading to a higher spec movement...

May I suggest a Sinn 556a or 556i? Beautiful watches, size is spot on, 28800 beats, EU, non-Swatch Group. You should be able to find one around that price point 🙂
