Aqua Terra Needs a Companion

It's that time again, looking to purchase another watch. Wanting something to rotate with my beloved AT 38.

Although I have owned other watches in the past, the AT is the only one that ticked all the boxes for me: <40mm, automatic, has date function.

Some watches I'm really considering are:

• Longines Zulu Time 39 (Hodinkee collab)

• Tudor BB Pro or re-purchasing Pelagos 39

• Save for TAG Glassbox

• Seiko SJE093

• Save for Zenith Chronomaster

• IWC Spitfire or Mark XX

Some watches I no longer own are: Tudor Black Bay 54 (didn't like the gilt and prefer the size of the 58), Pelagos 39 (almost perfect, wish it had a date...may re-purchase later on), Speedmaster Professional (also wish it had a date), Sinn 556 MOP, Smiths Everest.

Good luck, and let us know what you end up with!

Will do. Appreciate the comment.

I thought the puppy is the companion 🐶

I'd also add something my dad told me. When I was buying my Harley Davidson, I couldn't choose between two similar models. I was looking at it quite analytically which is my natural inclination. He said, "Son, which one will make you smile every time you ride it?" I chose the right one and I did indeed smile for many many years.

Moral of the story, choose the one that makes you smile every time you wear it.

You need a Grand Seiko in your life. The Snowflake is always a safe bet. I personally went with the Skyflake, but they have a ton of excellent models.

Yeah - I’m only here for the goodboy, sod the watch

·

Look into a Traska Venturer GMT, 38.5mm and full traveler GMT movement

You're a husky of taste. The two you marked as "save for" are among my favourite chronographs (which, like you, I don't own yet).

·

From listed I would go with BB Pro or IWC.

·

From those listed, I would save for the Zenith Chronomaster Sport.

I'll give you a totally useless recommendation which is to look for a brown, no, even hazel coloured dial.

So when you wear the white dialed AT on the right and the Brown dial watch on your left, it matches your dog's eyes.
