After years of collecting all sorts of junk, I've decided to dedicate myself to one SPECIFIC type of junk!
I literally can't afford this hobby anymore unless I find a way to keep it on the cheap. So for the foreseeable future I'm going to focus on 1980 Olympic Soviet. There is a startling variety of cases and faces. Easy to get, cheap and serviced.
From left to right. Poljot, Chaika, and Raketa. And Two new ZIM pucks on the way.

Have you ever checked out the Poljot alarm watches?

I have one but it has a terrible crystal, and nobody will fit a new one because "its Russian". I'm focusing on Olympics for the time being.

You could potentially replace the crystal yourself. EBay is usually a good source for acrylic watch crystals.
Replacing a crystal is a two minute job. That’s odd that nobody will do it?

There are so few people I can find who will work on watches, one has a year waiting list. And none of them want to work on what they see as "junk" This is why I won't buy anything that wasn't serviced first.
For that Poljot alarm watch try car paint cutting compound (T-Cut). I use it on my acrylic crystals and it removes scratches no problem.
👍
Very cool 👌
Where did you get the bund from? I am looking for one these days and yours look good.
Love that Poljot on the left!

This why I was very dissapointed when my trusted local watch maker retired. Haven't found another in the 5 years since. 😬
Let me just add that the Poljot case looks an awful lot like the case of the Rado Diastar. 😉

I know. Part of why I like it so much!
Lovely bund straps!
Do you have any trusted sellers you go to regularly🙄. I've got 8 Russian/Soviet pieces, all bought vintage or NOS. I've bought a few from Poljot24, and JK there has had a couple serviced for me too, but I've not found many other sellers who I've been confident enough in to buy from. Ebay is just a minefield of chancers, and I got my fingers burned a couple of times when I started really getting into these watches around 8/9 years ago. I think I've learned a bit from those mistakes, but it's still crap-shoot most of the time on there.Cheers in advance for any info.👍
Mood. I like your quirky picks.

Here are a few.

This last guys stuff is pretty hit and miss, but he is a good guy and repaired a watch I bought for him for free. (I offered to pay) I got my Chaika Stadium from him.
But he has lots of frankens and silly fake faces. You really have to pick and choose. ebay.com/str/timeologist
