Watch rotation

I’m sure the question of “how often do you rotate your watches” has been asked since people started collecting so breath easy, I’m not asking.

However I would like to share a new approach for me that I’m trying to use.

I have what I would consider a modest collection of affordable pieces and have mostly worn the same 2 or 3, leaving the rest in the boxes they came in.

Since joining this group and seeing some of the incredible pieces you have, it has changed my perspective on what I have and the desire to wear each one.

My current rotation is the same watch for 7 days then swap for another one for 7 days and so on.

This length of time has given me a better chance to actually enjoy each one rather than changing 3 or 4 times a week (not that anything is wrong with that).

Anyway, that’s what I’m trying to do so please forgive the multiple WRUW posts of the same watch before I swap out to the next one.

Interesting approach! Should maybe try it myself. Currently, I am changing on a daily basis because there are „unfortunately“ various watches I like and I want to give wrist time. Beside the fact that there are too many in my regular rotation, I like the idea somehow to enjoy the same watch for more than one day.

Maybe, I will go for a slightly modified way: wear the same watch for 3 or 4 days rather than a full week, need to think about it!

I would not worry at all about the WRUW posts, you should do this how you want and feel like…

Just my two cents…

3 or 4 days sounds reasonable.

Any thing to have the time and opportunity to enjoy each one is a bonus 👍

I like the idea of your approach. It gives your watches more wrist time and you gain a better feeling on your collection. I have a YouTube channel that I review affordable watches on , so I am wearing watches I don't normally wear and this gives me an opportunity to explore different types and styles of watches that I may not normally wear. I don't think there is a right or wrong way. There is just what works for you. Sorry for the rambling.

Agreed 👍

What’s your YouTube channel called?

Been wearing the same watch for over a week, I change it when I feel like it. Sometimes multiple times a day, sometimes a week or more.

That's why I don't post WRUW every day.

My Channel is infinitekronos. I'm a new channel and I review sub $500 watches which include homages.

I usually wear a different watch everyday ... but not always. Sometimes the same watch may find itself on my wrist a couple of daze in a row ...

Am tempted to try the weekly rotation thing 😀

I’m glad I tried it. In a way it forces me to wear one that maybe before I wasn’t sure about keeping. After a week, now I know for sure and I appreciate the look, feel and design of each one.

·

I enjoy seeing wristshots of the same watch day after day. It helps build the "so what"-factor behind the watch.

·

I have 11 watches and normally rotate through them all in a cycle, but not in perfect order. I normally wear each watch a few days but sometimes one day and my favorites closer to a week. It normally takes about 2 months to complete a cycle

·

everyday...rotate seven or so

sounds like a fun strategy! I'm gonna give it a go!

Nothing set in stone for me and my habits seem to evolve with time. I have 15 watches now. Some get worn very often and some get worn every few months. I’ve accepted the fact that I’m going to have a few favorites that get worn most of the time and it’s perfectly fine to have watches that rarely get worn. I’ll typically rock with the same 2-4 watches for a week or two and then move onto something else. I go purely off feel without any rotation schedule. Sometimes I’ll wear the same watch 15-20 times in a month and then might not wear that watch for another month or two. I don’t want to deprive myself of wearing a watch because it’s not “on the rotation schedule.” If I’m feeling it, I wear it. That simple.

Oh, seems like i have a different approach. Sometimes i change watches 3 times a day... 😂

Am I doing it wrong?

Seems rotated to me, so I think you’re doing it correctly.

For me, I’ve not got a ton of watches (about 8 as of right now), and I run through about half of them each week.

I’ve got two G-Shocks an ani-digi one and a solar square. The ani-digi lives at home, and is generally the one that I toss on to sleep. The square stays attached to my every day carry backpack, and I toss it on whenever I’m traveling and need a durable/nighttime watch. Just easier than tossing it into my watch box and pulling it back out.

For daily use, I’ve generally got 2-3 watches that I’ll pick at any given time. I don’t tend to swap beteen analog watches throughout the day, just swap between analog and digital. I write for a gear website, so I do review watches, which means that I tend to spend quite a bit of time with specific watches for a few months to fully test them.

·

I think depends how many watches you have which are the ones you love to wear the most. In this moment I have 10 watches. 4 of them I use occasionally and the other in kind of regular rotation for 2 or 3 days. Then who knows later I can change habits! 😁

·

I tried to rotate daily with a dozen or so watches. I somehow ended up with a couple of watches that I no longer have the same feelings for so they came out of rotation

I intend selling these and upgrading them as I go. This way my collection stays fresh, reflects my current taste and gets better and better! Well, that’s the plan

·

I change mine daily, as I generally match them to my outfit. Today I'm wearing a watch with a black wristband, black shirt, grey dress pants, and black belt and shoes. Tomorrow there will be another watch...

Thanks so much for checking out my channel and for the support! I really appreciate it.

·

I wear a different watch everyday, depending on what I’m wearing. My watch box has 8 watches in it currently.

·

Me from Sunday before sleept time to Wednesday night watches for the daily use, from Wednesday to Sunday my favorites pieces [ two watches for week ] . Special Dinners or events my grails ones, thats how i enjoy them !! NO rules, just been happy with all watches.

·

No rules for me, but it's normal to wear the same watch for 15 days, I feel that if I change a watch everyday I'm not enjoying it, live sometime with it.

·

Each day the watch choice depends on who I am meeting with and what I am wearing

·

Among my 20 watch collection, I have 7 automatics of which I try to keep 5 of my favs going at all times so I am rotating daily, sometimes double wristing and changing often to keep up. I love my quartz watches and also have 2 Solar watches by Citizen that I take out and place on the window every few weeks or so, then onto the wrist to enjoy.

I guess I am as unique as all the others, we do what we feel we like to do within our collection, moods, occasions and such. Bottom line-Enjoy!

·

I tend to wear a different one everyday, and one with a big lume overnight

·

I don't really think about it, just wear whatever I feel comfortable with that day.
