Who's worse - mech snobs or quartz snobs?

I'm definitely a quartz snob. I think mechanicals are outdated, fragile, inaccurate, inconvenient, overpriced, too heavy and lack useful features.

But maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. It's very possible that my brain has been deep fried from all the electromagnetic radiation from the battery in my watch. 🤔

Watches, mechanical or quartz, seem outdated, fragile, inaccurate, inconvenient, overpriced, too heavy and lacking useful features to me. I therefore find everyone not wearing an Apple watch suspicious. 😉

What if you like mecha-quartz? do both variants of snob hate you then? :P

Or maybe you become the king.. 😳

In this enthusiasm realm you’re simply outnumbered, but if you ask me, it doesn’t really matter. I embrace it all and I have no allegiances.

As to being a snob…

My thought goes back to an old negotiation tactic - don’t be so sure of what you want, that you wouldn’t take something better.

Spring Drive movements?

There’s no right answer, just your own answer to it, but in my book it’s worth to give it a shot 😉

Cheers

I'm a personally a spring drive fan since the flowing second hand motion best matches the true flow of time, it's not staccato steps.   That said, I also love regular mechanical watches of all sorts.

We all know quartz hands mechanical watches their asses in most aspects of timekeeping... but I still prefer mechanical movements owing to the human powered spring and exquisitely precise cogs and wheels that make it work.  Kind of a horological mechanical poetry.  Very zen 😌

I'll probably get a nice quartz one of these days, but the idea of changing batteries and that jerky second hand is a bit off putting.

im more smartwatch crowd, quartz and mechanical? seems outdated 😂

·

Snobs of all types are the worst.

There is no reason to put down what others like just because it isn't to your taste.

·

I like that quartz bros can simply list factual advantages in support of their position without personal philosophical rationalizations.

Simple, just remove the seconds hand. Perfectly smooth.

But yeah I get what you mean. Mechanical is very elegant.

Also God made quartz so it's superior spiritually as well.

·

Not really. Apple watches are terrible.

They are fragile, uncomfortable, overpriced, inconvenient, guaranteed to become landfill when their batteries are too weak and are a fire risk.

·

Lighten up? Are you making fun of my weight?

😉

Not a fan of any kind of snob, but judging from online discussions I have been in (especially when leaving comments on youtube videos)... quartz snobs are worse. The mech snobs simply ignore you when you are not into their thing, the quartz snobs go on a rant belittling/insulting you and your watches, kind of trying to shame you into their way of thinking. A bit like vegans.
