Everyone here is so nice!

On the WatchUSeek forums I see a lot of people being dicks for no reason. But everyone here is so chill.

I'm wondering if maybe it's because everyone discovered this site from the same YouTubers?

(I saw it advertised on Ben's Watch Club)

What I mean is, if those YouTubers have a friendly attitude then I think the people who subscribe to them are more likely to be friendly as well. No?

Or maybe that YouTuber is all about budget friendly watches which would not appeal to the stuck up type of guys that hate anything that's not a Patek. (And I get the feeling those type of guys are more likely to be dicks online) 🤔

Oh man could you imagine a forum with only people who watch that guy who shouts all the time about how much he hates Hublot. 😂

(I'm only joking it's possible that they are very nice people. It's just a funny image in my mind. And to be fair he does love cheap Casios as well so I give him a pass.)

Photo: My titanium Casio with the orange backlight. It's not perfect and it's limited to 1.5 seconds but orange is much nicer on the eyes at night. I'm gonna try to modify my g shock light to make it orange as well.

There are a few members that fail to recognize the God tier of the Casio F-91W, but we ignore them.

Give me a week.  :-) kidding. This is a unique home for like minded folks.

Lots of distrust on that site due to the selling page and it's all about getting a post count to access it.

I was also a Bens Watch Club watcher, and so far the website has definitely lived up to the advertisement of being friendly and inviting.  As with anything online, there are a few uh…interesting users and opinions here and there, but I’ve never seen anyone get nasty, and if I see an opinion or something that I think is dumb, condescending, or “trying too hard”, I just ignore it. Honestly I hardly see swear words on here too, which I found to be a miracle in the online world. Maybe we are just in a perfect little ecosystem of the right people :) I like the mix of formal and informal comments and posts on here too—there’s some excellent writers that use this site.

It’ll be interesting to see how the user base changes as it grows, but I would expect it to remain relatively consistent.  For example, I own a few watches that tend to end up in the negative view on YouTube and stuff, but when I post pics here, no one says anything negative like that, and I get to show how I enjoy my pieces , rather than just pandering to an audience.

This is a nice group, mostly you’ll get some praise and interest for your watches, there’s a good bit of learning here too. My guess is, there’s a bit of moderating to help, but mostly we do OK with too much ‘adult supervision‘

Nice shot of your watch BTW!

Thanks it took like 20 minutes because the light is only 1.5 seconds and my phone wasn't focusing fast enough. Lol

I came here by following Ben's Watch Club recommendation and of course through following WatchCrunch YT channel. Now that I think about it, none of the channels that mentioned or endorsed WatchCrunch fell into one the categories I dislike: YouTube watch channels I can't stand, so your idea about the influence of the attitude of the presenters on the people who ends up joining this site might be spot on.
