I love dive watches and since owning them I am actually looking to start diving.
Is it weird that a watch is actually encouraging me into a sport/activity??
I’d better stay well clear of a speedmaster if that’s the case! 😂
Not at all, I owned dive watches before I started diving too, it wasn't my reason to start but whatever the reason is it doesn't matter, diving is a lovely sense of freedom and a switch off from everyday life, a new perspective and many, many new things to see and experience. If a watch is calling that to you then do it! You won't regret it.
Speed is also a good thing - when your in control of it, if you want to be a Speedmaster, walk before running! 😄😄😄
Who is flying a plane with its flieger, or fights on the Battlefield with his field watch, or is on a racing track with his chronograph, or in space with his Moonwatch, or jet setting with his gmt etc etc 😉
I think we all know the answers. 😉
But it's all fine. Even if we don't use tool watches as tools, their designs, characters and elementsxare based on a certain use. Otherwise it would be a fashionwatch, which is also fine. 😊
But this question is especially justifyed if people expecting extreme tool abilities and if they judge a watch about that.

I dive into a bag of chips often.

I'm in the UK too so even a paddling pool is only reserved for 'special' summers! 😄 😄 😄

That's fair my man. I don't either, my tiny garden is on a slope so wouldn't work for me either! 😄

Snorkel mostly
I’ll get wet, even in the ocean, but I don’t dive.

I have used my citizen since 1998 and it has 300 dives. I only use it for diving or apnea.
And that is my apnea record on there 130 feet in 2002.
Gonna take a dive in the Maldives with my orient ray 2 in a few days
