Brand Introduction-Fieldstand

Hello Everyone.

I would like to introduce myself and my brand in this community.

I am Cesar Morales from Mexico, have been quite passionate about design and watchmaking since long time and it was time for me to start releasing some of my designs and concepts.

My brand is called Fieldstand, (from Field's Standard) mainly rugged vintage looking watches but with quite some change in the way they work; they can be swapped between displays, you can find some information on how it works at fieldstand.com or in my instagram page fieldstand_official.

I thank your time for reading me and your valuable comments.

Best Regards,

Cesar

Welcome Cesar,

Interesting offering! Magnetically controlled, oil filled, single hand watches with interchangeable cases. Sounds like a unique combination of features!

I’ll put the word out on a watch Discord that I’m part of. Good luck, hope you do well and continue to build watches for years to come!

Welcome. Very impressive offering with very few off the shelf parts. Well done and I hope you do well, sure looks nice. Turn of the century WW1 era style case with inserts to change things up or down is a novel idea.

All one-handers?

·

Looks nice. What does "carefully set magnetic array" mean? I can't seem to find any of the usual specs, case dimensions, movement, etc.

Bienvenidos Cesar. Me da gusto saber que estas llevando acabo este proyecto. ¡Buena suerte!

I’ll have to check out the site. Looks interesting.

Intriguing and certainly unique. Wish you great success.

may I inquire as to dimensions?

Hi Oscar, yes for this system to work more conveniently I decided to make them with only the hours indicator, you will have some sort of tolerance on the time accuracy but it was a trade off. On the other hand I have done previously watches with two hands and even a chronograph, I am attaching you here a picture of the one I did, the Tarahumara.

Yes actually the name Fieldstand comes from two meanings; Field's Standard, which objetive is to create a brand to become the standard of the people who work in outdoor and field related activities and also to create those same items by hand but by using standard parts and processes that can be used across the other models.

Hello Wilfried! Yes well, it was quite a challenge for me to find the right dimension, of the magnets, strength and the distance as to make it a reliable system. If it is too strong the magnet may jam the whole mechanism, if it is too little, no force to attract the indicator, the position also was important since you dont want it to be too far from the center of the mechanism... so it was quite a lot of trials, now I am proud to say that I dialed it perfectly. Specs, you are right, I havent wrote any indicative number, which i should start putting, but the case is a 41mm one, for the height I just finished my latest prototype which is 10mm thick (much more cosmetic) the previous one was 13.9mm tall. Movement, I am using a ronda 756, which is a quartz movement, I decided to use this one specifically because I am not a huge fan of crowns in field watches. Water resistance; I will need to send my watch to a testing lab in order to be sure of what i am writing down the website, but for now is definetively water resistant. The case is all aluminium (actually I have made some cases in solid brass and bronze, amazing colors, and even carbon fiber for a few prototypes I made).

Santiago! Un gusto ver tu mensaje. Yes please feel free to tell me your opinion, starting Fieldstand more than for the sake of making a venture is to make a brand that could contribute at least in a little bit in the improvement of the watch industry.

Thank you! Yes 41mm is the case diameter, for the height the current version is 13.9mm in height, but I just finished a working prototype of only 10mm.
