Do you think the no-dial would be too empty?

I like some no-dial, but i wouldn’t mind keeping the text so that it matches the original watch. Then again, I don’t noticed the “Pagani design” on my Flanders much.

Some think sterile dials look generic or cheap but I think they look clean and premium.

Sterile dials work in some cases but the text is minimal on this dial and looks better.

Sterile dials look cheap and generic, they lack any character. Definitely go for the text 👌🏻

·

That is very different for every dial but Id go with the sterile dial in this case

·

Depends on the watch as usual but for a California dial I'd say sterile.

·

If no text something needs to be at 12

Once you add the date and day function on the dial it will look busier, so I’d go no text. Interesting that the big beast Panerai California dial has a model without text.

I like sterile dials for timeless designs like fliegers and art deco dress watches etc. Otherwise I’m not brand conscious and don’t mind the text

The watch in question

Some like the watch alone, some like the brand on it. For me it a bit of mix depend on the size, smaller could go sterile, bigger could have a logo. So are we wearing a watch or the brand? It is an anwers to oneself.

I like/prefer sterile dials on Fliegers, not a fan of a flieger with tons of letters/logo.

I also like field watches with sterile dials or simply the british MoD arrow. But I dont mind a small logo on vintage ones. Modern ones I'm fine with text.

Other than that, I'm not a fan of sterile dials on sports/divers/chronographs. Feels like it needs to be there, even on busy dials.

For dress watches, it really depends what kind of watch it is, what type of dial, if its sunburst, guillochet, exotic material, etc.

For me a half way house is an issue. H. Moser and Cie show that a blank dial looks fantastic if the colour and texture is interesting but if you put on makers and nothing else I think it looks unfinished although the day and date may balance it out

I actually like the sterile dial I think, which surprises me.
