How to be superlative without making such a big story out of it, or why I like my GW-M5610U so much.

In my case the GW-M5610U is like a big bowl of chocolate ice cream for an emotional person who just broke up a relationship. It's a comfort food that makes me feel better without really solving any underlying problem in my life.

It's the one that I turn to whenever I'm not sure what to wear for the day, or when I know that I'm going to need something tough that can be taken anywhere without raising unwanted attention, or being looked down. Nobody will know how loaded or broke you are when you wear a square because of its truly egalitarian nature.

A COSC certified watch is supposed to maintain an average daily rate of −4/+6 seconds deviation. It will then be certified as a chronometer, and of course some brands will insist of plastering this fact on their dials.

Well, my M5610 has a rated deviation of ±0.5 second/day and it doesn't need to be sent back to Switzerland to be re-certified after a service.

And I don't have to compromise on anything to get that, certainly not on power reserve which is infinite for all practical purposes, courtesy of the big nuclear fusion ball up there in the sky.

The list of features that are hidden in this square is truly mind boggling. Some of them, such as the alarm, have little use for me, but I can see the usefulness of keeping track of 5 time zones, or the count down timer.

The only real compromise here is having to deal with a LCD display. Most of the time it's not a problem at all, except when I try to take a photo and then I have to play a bit with angles and use a polarizing filter.

There's also the fact that Casio wisely decided to get rid of stupidities such as plastering meaningless adjectives and certifications over the dial, but sadly they only did it because it allowed them to replace it with their own drivel instead. It was cool in the 80's but a bit annoying to those that are not into digital retro.

Except for that it's pretty much perfect. The M5610U corrected most of the DW5600 faults and the combi-bracelet turned it into one of the most comfortable watches to wear in my collection.

Don't like all the text, thats why i picked this one. also the bluetooth makes it +/- 0 worldwide, with the radio for backup and adds some nice functions that are actually kinda handy when i use them in a pinch. definitely the best watch for me personally and ironically I picked it up cos it was on sale and did 0 research, everything after this was ultimately disappointing in some way only downside negative display, fixed by the light and solar to charge the battery. no complaints.

And it has a Time calibration signal reception feature so there is no need to adjust the time.

·

I have the all black variant.

And the truth is… I could not need anything else apart maybe a dress watch.

You should consider a sales career

You should consider a sales career

I already make a living out of selling useless stuff to clueless customers. I'd rather not extend this to my hobbies.
