Heirloom Watches

Seeing my grandma today. This was given to my grandpa by his father when he had my dad, engraved, then passed to my dad  and engraved when he had me.  It then came to me when I had the twins. Nowhere left to engrave it.  When my dad gave it to me he said it’s not a “fancy” watch but it is very special. Personally I think it’s a great old dress watch from a solid Swiss brand (that seems to be making a comeback with the ocean star, OS GMT etc.) I’m also taking it to get serviced today so saying goodbye for a bit to it. I was wondering if anybody wanted to post any heirloom pieces they are fortunate enough to have recieved.

An incredibly beautiful watch with a great story! And the Multifort line is still in Mido's catalogue.
My grandfather and my great-grandfather both had a pocket watch. My grandmother always kept them safe and decided that she wanted to give one to my cousin and one to me. They are both in service right now but when they come back she'll let us decide who gets which one.

That is a really lovely Mido. I received a couple of watches from my grandfather: a Seamaster that is being serviced and a beater Pulsar:

They all need work, but over the summer, my grandparents gave me these:

Coincidentally, one of them was also a Mido:

Awesomeness!  Heirloom watches are the best watches to receive, and at this point in my life pass on.  Following my Mom's lead, I have begun passing some things on while I am still around.

You will be surprised how nice the passing things on can be when the time comes.
