Sistem51 Fathoms display in store and new Tudor release on 9/15

So the store displays are getting set up. I’m not a fan of the FiftyFathoms, but I recognize that this is a big collab and release by Swatch. And love it or hate it, the Moonswatch collab was a good thing for the watch industry as a whole.

So I went into the store and chatted with the nice sales person. He couldn’t confirm the pricing but he did say that it will be “quite a bit more than the Moonswatch”. So I’m guessing $350? Maybe $400 or even as high as $450??

I also stepped into the Tudor boutique and the nice salesperson said that they will be launching a new product on 9/15. He can’t say what it is exactly but that it will be “a new dive watch”. He said he can’t say if it’s a new configuration of an existing lineup or a new watch altogether. But expect something new on 9/15!

Ooo, a blue Pelagos 39 maybe 🥹

I bet it's more like $800 or $900. Gotta be water resistant to whatever depth because it's probably illegal to print it if it's not true. And automatic. The marks will always pay more for an automatic.

·

All I want them to do is introduce the Tfit clasp to the chronograph and I’ll be happy

·

Was I really waiting for bioplastic/ceramic/soylent green shaped into a Montblanc with a quartz movement? No, probably not. But the entertainment value should be fairly high. 😀

·

Honestly I'd love to see them having learnt their lesson from the moonswatch. Namely having adequate stock, good build quality and non skin colouring cases

But who am I kidding

I doubt it would be much of a "Swatch" if it isn't plastic, quartz, and less than $300. Regardless, this and the MoonSwatch are a great move on the part of the Swatch Group to get attention for their other companies to the masses of people more interested in (and may only know) an Apple Watch. I think it benefits all companies producing the old-fashioned ticker watches that we all like.

According to the leaks, it’s using the Swatch Sistem51 movement which is an automatic

That is interesting - a 90-hour power reserve. I'd be glad to be wrong and look forward to seeing this. Will they also require you to purchase in the Swatch store and not online?

I really wish it was just a 30m WR “Five Fathoms” watch.

·

They will not stop until they have shat upon the reputation of every icon they own.

Blue Pelegos 39mm would me amazing!
