Looking For Suggestions

I'm hoping for suggestions for a dress watch. The catch is, I don't dress up real dressy. What I mean is I wear a tie once every 4 or 5 years. When I dress up for church or for my daughters' school functions, I wear a short sleeve button up shirt and a really nice pair of jeans. Like this:

IMHO, full on dress watches look out of place with this. But, I would really like something dressier than the typical dive/field watches I normall wear.

I thought I had it with the Tissot Gentleman on a leather strap, until I saw it in person. I LOVED the watch, but it was too big for what I'm after. I don't mind 42mm, but for this occasion, I'd like 38-40mm. Maybe up to a 42mm if it wears much smaller than the Gentleman did.

My budget range is $200-$600. Thank you all so much in advance!

I forgot one thing. I would really like it to be an automatic. I don't mind quartz and they make up half my collection. But, I personally feel that mechanical is dressier and would prefer this one to be an auto. Thank you!

Pick a Seiko Cocktail Time or an Orient Bambino.

·

Tissot PRX 35mm or anything from Seiko Pressage line gotta be suffice for someone who seldom use a dressy watch, but still doesn't look out of place for casual uses.

·

The Orient Star (it has no nickname) with Grand Seiko vibes and little decoration on the movement.

If those are not matching to your expectations, check some other Orient Stars. They have some great watches easy to find under 500.

Or the Seiko 5 Sports

A GREAT budget alternative in this category that is an almost perfect GADA (go anywhere, do anything) watch, is the 40mm Casio Edifice EFV-100D (or it's slightly smaller brother the EFV-110D at 35-36ish mm). This watch can be dressed up or down as the occasion and attire requires!

Dead accurate. Dead reliable. Screw down signed crown. 100 meters water resistant. Serious "Aqua Terra" vibes. Three colors to choose from; but black suits more "dressy" occasions best. What's not to like?

Baltic HMS or MR01 for a smaller dress watch.

Tissot Le Locke for a 40mm dress watch

Traska Commuter for a sports/dress hybrid.

As mentioned before, a Seiko Presage or Orient Bambino are great as well.

I really like the Orient Star. Thank you!

My pleasure

I would try the Hamilton brand. This is my 38mm khaki field automatic on a strapcode bracelet.

Also you could try the Jazzmaster line.

Thank you! I have the Khaki (it's my favorite watch in my collection) but, I'm looking for a non-field watch. The Jazzmasters look great, though!
