Seiko SNXS

Howdy folks

is 169€ a good deal on this Seiko?

I'd say not really a great deal. Jomashop has that watch for $99 right now. But depending on your location, import taxes, etc., you might not have better options.

I think that's a good 50% over what it was a year or two ago, but they haven't been made for about twice as long as that. New old stock are getting scarce. Of course this all depends on whether you want that model or something similar.

It's $99 at jomashop.com/seiko-5-watch-snxs75.html

Keep in mind that the movement in the older Seiko 5's doesn't hack or hand-wind if that's important to you.

Its on the expensive side but they are hard to find and because of the popularity the prices are increasing.

I picked the SNXS75 last year for $105 from Amazon. Now its round $130-150. Jomashop is a better option but if the price including taxes and shipping costs less than this, then it's better deal.

Keep in mind it comes with the older 7s26 movement without hand winding and hacking.

I visited persoally at the Seiko Boutique and tryed it on. So...actually...in any other case of a brand I would say it is not worth. But somehow it has something very special. And the fact that this watches are discontinued made them quite rare. So even the retailprice 2 years ago was less than 100 Euro I would still say that this price is ok. But don't expect an high end or high quality watch.

In my personal opinion that would be the farest limit. If 170 Euro doesn't hurt you, I would go for it before it is sold out to keep it int the collection. But if you have only 200 Euro to spend for only one watch for the next years, then I woul recommend you to look for something else.
