What would you choose?

I'm on the waiting list for a Rolex Explorer 40mm and I'm considering to leave this silly game. Who knows when it get "the call"? Tomorrow? In 3 years time? I know, these watches have not much in common but I like them both. 😊Copyright for the photos: Rolex, Seiko.

Easy choice for me. I got my 40 within three months of doing the EOI. The AD was also fantastic throughout the whole process. Stay the course, brother. 🙂

36mm Explorer.

·

I would get the Cherry Blossom over the Explorer.

·

I dislike the Explorer less.

All I will say is good luck and all the best and I respect your choice and am happy for you if you get what you want.

Rolex is overpriced and those who have not gotten a Rolex has missed the boat. The faux/manufactured exclusivity is the icing on the shitty cake. Even at RRP, they just aren’t worth it.

36mm Explorer.

I'm 2m tall, 110kg - 36mm is too small for my liking.

That sound promising!👍🏻

Thank you! I'm leaning towards the Explorer atm.

I actually tried on the explorer yesterday for the first time. It’s a piece that suits a daily wear. Not loud, but a simple/basic timepiece built like a tank.

The GS is a beauty, but in my opinion not a daily wear.

I voted for the GS mainly because I have my fill of Rolex and would look to diversify to something else.

But if you’re looking for a daily watch, the explorer may be the one for you.

That's what I'm looking for. I also love the history of the Explorer. If only I were more patient...😄

You’ll get it sooner than you expect. ADs aren’t getting more, because less people are buying Rolex now that they’re trading down on the secondary market.

I just can't get over that power reserve display. Without it GS all the way.

This is when a value retention question comes into play with me. It’s either up or brick. The Rolex you won’t get sick of and the pink is actually very mild in person and for me not as appealing. And I like gloss black dials

I'm partial to the Rolex. To me the Grand Seiko is just another watch that you would get because of the look or innovation (Spring Drive) after you satisfy your thirst for Rolex or other Swiss brands. Plus, it still says Seiko. In this world where Japanese automakers give a different name to their luxury brands relative to their parent brand, Honda - Acura, Toyota - Lexus, Nissan - Infinity. Hell, even Korean brands do it, Hyundai - Genesis. Why then is it "Grand Seiko" I'm not saying that it's not an exceptional watch, because it is, but really, adding the "Grand" to the name. Did someone just say add "Grand" to it because it's a better watch than their standard Seiko, or was it because instead of paying hundreds, you will be paying thousands (Grand).

Voted Rolex, but a tougher choice than i thought it would be. In the end i think its the darker face that does for me in that watch!

I made up my mind (sort of😄): I'll wait! 😄
