PRX vs citizen Tsuyosa?

I am never really excited on the PRX design but the integrated bracelet is a good idea in my opinion.

I always love seiko and what they do in their design element. Then, i was on a hunt for a good tiffany dial or torquoise color but not trying to pay a whole lot of rolex price.

This tsuyosa caught my eye …although some would argue that this dial is not really a tiffany color per say but close enough.

I have to say i am surprised with the finishing and how well it built compared to a seiko presage or some similar level.

Loving it and will explore / buy other citizen again.

It looks like the Tsuyosa has a stronger lume than PRX.

Great choice

I’m a fan of the PRX

sorry

I'm a huge fan of Citizen, this a beautiful watch. If you needed the reassurance that you're not settling, believe me you aren't. I think the first rule of collecting is, "don't make irresponsible decisions to own a watch" and I think you made a great choice. Love the watch on your wrist, now I'm curious if I could find that in a champagne dial.

Citizen Tsuyosa > PRX IMO !!

Great looking watch 👌

·

Nice watch. Love that this lineup has a lot of different colors, even though I tend to keep things monochromatic. I’m a PRX owner and can appreciate what Citizen is trying to do.

·

Aestheticly I think that is a nicer finish than the PRX, I am a citizen fan myself. Quartz vs quartz from both sides I would every consider the citizen over the PRX, but if you are the powermatic to the mix, aomethinf about ther nice sweep and chrono would take it for me 👍

I have a low-key version of this from Casio. Cost me 55€ + 5€ strap.

Pretty good deal for a dial color that I’ll rock 1-2 time a year.

Other than that I’ll stick with my PRX.

I like it better overall and it has its own flavor. 🤷🏻‍♂️

One of our team members noticed the striking similarities too, so we made a video on it and put them head to head https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SLCrvworPY&t=2s

One of my colleagues loved the Citizen in person and has gone ahead and purchased the yellow one!

PRX(at least the automatic one) has plastic gears which break down more easily, so i would say the Citizen.

Nothing wrong with that …PRX is a good piece nevertheless

This citizen movement is an automatic miyota 8210 if i am not mistaken…it is smooth sweep but i have not seen the prx movement in person. I’ll take a closer look if i have a chance to see prx powermatix in person :)

I am curious about the yellow one and not sure how i can rock it in day to day… but the yellow color is definitely a fun one to have

It is good to know on this as not so many people mention it or know how to open the watch and inspect to notice…thank you

I didn't personally check it my self. I've heard it from a fellow watch enthusiast and repairsman.

I've got a PRX Quartz and a Tsuyosa Automatic. To be brutally honest, I wouldn't trust the Powermatic 80 in the PRX, since according to most sources, some of the gears inside are made of plastic hence prone to break easily. If you really want a PRX Tiffany, better get the Quartz (T137.410.11.091.01). If the brand doesn't matter, the Tsuyosa (NJ0151-88M) is the better choice all day, every day.

Disregarding the movement (quartz vs automatic) and brand recognition, which one do you feel is the better watch overall, PRX Quartz or Tsuyosa?

I'm talking about the bracelet, clasp, finishing, details, etc.

Phew, tough one... Even though I absolutely LOVE the Tsuyosa, to me, the PRX Quartz still wins by a slight margin. The bracelet is exceptionally well crafted, the clasp is perfect and the sunburst is ever so slightly more vibrant.

Thanks for your reply. Looks wise, I'm impartial to both. Maybe I lean a bit to the PRX due to the more distinctive bracelet, but dial colors the Tsuyosa wins in my book. The PRX quartz in my country is the same price as the Tsuyosa, hence the question. I already have an automatic as my daily and a hi-beat quartz as my second watch. Either the PRX/Tsuyosa will be my third watch. I think in my case a quartz will have more benefits, as I can leave it in the box for days and just grab it without winding and setting the time.

i only have Tsuyosa currently but i did get to see the PRX bracelet....and sad to say that PRX bracelet is really nice and slim. I don't own PRX so i don't have any say on how the watch feels and everything but the bracelet is better than tsuyosa in my opinion.
